What does 570/971 code mean on transcript? Just updated today help!
I just checked my transcript and it updated today with 570 and 971 codes. I've been waiting since January and now this shows up. Anyone know what this means? Getting really worried about my refund at this point.

The 570 code means the IRS has temporarily frozen your account/refund for review. The 971 indicates they're sending you a notice explaining why. Usually means they need to verify something or found a discrepancy. Check your mail in the next 2 weeks for their letter.

Same thing happened to me last month! The 570 basically puts your refund on pause while they review something. Don't panic - it's usually just routine verification. I got my notice about 10 days later and it was just asking me to confirm some W-2 info. Once I responded, they released my refund within 2 weeks. Hang in there!
