Tax Advocate wants 1099-R by Oct 5 - Faxed it but can't confirm receipt
Finally heard from my tax advocate who says my verification is done but I need to submit a 1099-R form. I faxed it right away but now I can't get ahold of anyone to confirm they got it. The fax machine said it went through but im getting nervous about the October 5th deadline.

As long as your fax confirmation shows successful transmission, you're covered. Keep that confirmation page! The IRS considers the postmark/transmission date as the receipt date. You can also mail a copy certified mail as backup if you're worried.

Pro tip: if you can't reach your advocate, try calling right when they open at 7am EST. That's how I finally got through after weeks of trying.
