Filed 1099-NEC through H&R Block but IRS says they never received it - Stuck processing since 1/24
Filed my self employed taxes through H&R Block with my 1099-NEC. Been stuck in processing since January 24th. Called the IRS today and the rep said they never got my 1099-NEC and I need to fax it to them. I thought e-filing meant they automatically get all this stuff. Super confused about whats going on

The IRS should receive your 1099-NEC electronically when you e-file. However, there can be transmission errors. Before you fax anything, check your return copy from H&R Block to confirm the 1099-NEC info was actually included. If it was, call IRS again - you might have gotten incorrect info from the first rep. Sometimes different reps give different answers.

•ugh classic IRS... one rep tells you one thing, another tells you something completely different 🤡

Hey! I actually went through something similar and found this tool called taxr.ai that helped me figure out exactly what was wrong. It costs $1 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you precisely whats causing delays and how to fix them. Saved me from endless phone calls to the IRS https://taxr.ai

•interesting... how exactly does it work? does it just read the transcript or what?

•it uses AI to analyze everything in your transcript and gives super specific feedback about whats causing delays and how to fix them. way better than trying to piece together info from different reps

This is frustrating but unfortunately pretty common. The IRS systems don't always sync properly with third-party software like H&R Block. A few things to try: 1) Get your tax transcript online to see exactly what the IRS has on file, 2) Contact H&R Block to confirm they successfully transmitted your return, and 3) If you do need to fax the 1099-NEC, send it to the processing center that handles your region (you can find this on IRS.gov). Keep records of everything you send. The processing delays this year have been brutal so you're definitely not alone in this mess.
