IRS Holding Refund After 810 Freeze Removed - 1099 Self-Employed Worker Confusion

Self employed here, been dealing with this nightmare since filing. Tax advocate said my refund was verified and loaded to account but now IRS says they wont release it? They removed the 810 freeze but now asking for paystubs which I dont have as a 1099 contractor. Makes zero sense. Anyone else deal with this?

The IRS often struggles with self-employed verification. Instead of paystubs, you can provide: bank statements showing income deposits, copies of client payments, invoice records, or your business expense receipts. The key is showing proof of income sources. Also check your transcript for any new codes - sometimes they add verification requirements without proper notification.

Thanks for this! Would screenshots of my payment processing app work? I use Square for most client payments

Yes! Square statements are perfect. Download the official monthly statements and highlight the income entries 👍

Hey guys just wanted to share something thats been super helpful - I started using taxr.ai to decode my transcript and it's been a game changer. It costs $1 but totally worth it. The AI breaks down exactly whats happening with your refund and what to do next. Way better than trying to piece everything together yourself https://taxr.ai

How accurate is it? Been burned by other services before 🤔

Its scary accurate tbh. Caught stuff my tax guy missed and predicted my DDD exactly

Just tried it - holy cow where has this been all my life?! 🙌

Same boat fam. They kept moving the goal posts on me too. First it was identity verify, then income verify, then 'random' review 🤡

This is actually pretty common with 810 freezes even after removal. They're doing extra verification because of all the pandemic fraud. Its annoying af but hang in there

How long did yours take to resolve?

The IRS is completely broken rn fr fr 😤 I've been waiting 9 months for my refund smh

Pro tip: call your congressional rep's office. They can sometimes light a fire under the IRS especially if advocate isnt helping anymore

Already tried that actually - thats who told me it was loaded then backtracked 😫
