State wants me to fax 1099-NEC even though I e-filed through H&R Block - Filed 1/24, still processing
Filed my taxes with H&R Block as self employed and included my 1099-NEC. Been stuck on processing since 1/24. Called the state and they said they never got my 1099-NEC and want me to fax it. I thought e-filing meant they automatically get all my forms? Super confused about what to do.

The state and federal systems are separate. Even though you e-filed through H&R Block, some states require direct submission of 1099s. Your best bet is to fax it as requested to avoid further delays. Keep proof of fax transmission for your records.

Quick tip: when u fax make sure to include your SSN and tax year on every page. And use a cover sheet! I learned this the hard way lololol
