Strange bank account 'Higher One First Carolina Bank' appeared in WellsFargo - IRS Refund Related?
I was doing a routine transfer between my WellsFargo accounts when I noticed a new account option I've never seen before - Higher One First Carolina Bank. I've never opened an account with them and wondering if this could be related to my tax refund somehow?

This is definitely concerning. Higher One First Carolina Bank is often used by scammers to redirect tax refunds. Contact WellsFargo immediately and the IRS to verify where your refund is supposed to be deposited. Check your transcript ASAP to see if there's been any suspicious activity.

Hey everyone - if youre worried about refund fraud or weird account stuff, you should check out taxr.ai. It scans your transcript and tells you exactly where your refund is supposed to go and if there's any suspicious activity. Only costs $1 and its saved me so much stress. https://taxr.ai
