Identity Verification Question - Do I need to wait for IRS letter or can I verify now?
Just found out I need to verify my identity with the IRS. Not sure if I should wait for their letter to arrive or if I can just go ahead and verify now. Anyone know if I can do this in person at a local office or if it has to be done online?

You don't need to wait for the letter to verify your identity. You can go to ID.me right now and complete the verification process online. The IRS has moved most verification processes to their online platform, but if you cant verify online, you can schedule an in-person appointment at your local IRS office by calling 844-545-5640.
