What to expect at IRS ID verification appointment - documents and questions asked?
I got a letter saying I need to verify my identity at the local IRS office. Pretty nervous about what to bring and what they'll ask me. Anyone been through this process recently? How long did it take?

Just went through this last week. Bring your ID, social security card, and any tax documents (W2s, 1099s). They'll ask basic identity verification questions - previous addresses, employers, etc. The whole thing took about 30 minutes. Make sure you schedule an appointment first - they won't take walk-ins.
