IRS Check mailed 12/13 never arrived - NYC lost mail issues?
My transcript shows check was mailed out December 13th but still nothing in my mailbox. I'm in NYC and getting worried. Starting to think it got lost in the mail. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next?

Tax expert here. After 4 weeks of no check arrival, you need to initiate a payment trace with the IRS by calling 800-829-1954. For NYC specifically, mail theft has been an increasing problem, so document everything. You might need to file Form 3911 for the trace.
