IRS Transcript showing 'Currently Unavailable' - Both Online and Mail Options Not Working
My transcript has been showing unavailable for both online and mail options. Been trying for days now and no luck. Getting worried since I need to check my refund status. Anyone else experiencing this or know what this means?

Tax pro here - this usually happens for a few reasons: 1) System maintenance (usually resolves in 24-48 hrs) 2) Your account is under review 3) Identity verification issues. Try checking early morning around 6am EST, systems typically refresh then.

Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes chrome gives me issues but firefox works fine

I had this exact same issue last month! Turns out my account was flagged for additional review due to some W-2 discrepancies. The "Currently Unavailable" message can be frustrating but it's often temporary. Try calling the Taxpayer Advocate Service at 1-877-777-4778 - they were super helpful when the regular IRS line gave me the runaround. Also, if you filed electronically, check your email for any notices from the IRS that might explain what's going on. Hope this helps!

Going to try the Taxpayer Advocate Service number you mentioned - regular IRS customer service has been useless so far. How long did it take for your transcript to become available again after they resolved the W-2 issue?
