570 Code on Transcript but No Notice - What's Going On?
My transcript shows code 570 but I haven't gotten any notices in the mail or verification requests in my account. All other codes look normal. Been checking my account daily for 3 weeks now and nothing has changed. Getting worried because my refund is pretty big this year and I really need it. Anyone else dealing with this?

The 570 code indicates a temporary hold on your refund. While it can be concerning, it doesn't always mean verification is needed. Often, the IRS is just doing additional review of your return. Usually resolves within 2-4 weeks if there are no major issues. Keep monitoring your transcript for a 571 code which means the hold was released.

Check your wage and income transcript. Sometimes employers mess up W2 reporting and that triggers 570. Mine cleared after my employer fixed their mistake.

Had the same 570 code last year and it drove me crazy! Turned out to be just routine review - no verification needed. Mine cleared after exactly 28 days with a 571 code appearing first.
