IRS2Go App Shows "Exceeded Daily Limit" Error When Checking 2024 Refund Status - Anyone Else?
Getting so frusterated with the IRS app. Been trying to check my refund status all morning but keep getting error messages. Is the app down or is it just me? Tried restarting my phone and everything. I keep using the IRS2Go app to check my refund status for my 2024 tax return. I enter all the required information exactly as shown on my tax return. For the SSN field, I enter my last 4 digits - 8160. But then I get this frustrating error message that says "You have exceeded the daily limit on inquiries. Please try again tomorrow" with just an "OK" button. I've tried multiple times, restarted my phone, checked that I have good signal (showing 5GUC with 31% battery), but keep hitting this wall. The app shows all the typical features - Refunds, Payments, Tax Help, Connect buttons at the bottom, and even the Accessibility and Privacy Notice links - but I can't get past this error to actually see my refund status. Is the IRS system down today or is there actually a strict limit on how many times you can check? I filled my taxes weeks ago and just want to know where my money is! Anyone else having this issue with IRS2Go today?

The IRS app has been having widespread issues today. Their servers are probably overwhelmed since its tax season and everyone's checking their refunds. Try using the website instead at irs.gov/refunds

Instead of dealing with buggy apps and websites, I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund. Its only $4.99 but gives way more detailed info than the IRS tools. Plus it actually works lol https://taxr.ai

Having the exact same problem! Got that "exceeded daily limit" error right off the bat this morning without even checking once successfully. It's ridiculous that their system can't handle basic traffic during tax season. I ended up calling the automated phone line (1-800-829-1954) and at least got through there, though the wait was brutal. The IRS really needs to invest in better tech infrastructure - we're talking about billions of dollars in refunds and they can't even keep a simple app running properly 🤦♀️

Way better than dealing with this broken app. The automated system gave me my refund status right away. Definitely going to use the phone line from now on instead of fighting with the app 📞

This is so typical of government tech systems! I've been dealing with the same "exceeded daily limit" error since Tuesday. What's really annoying is that it seems completely random - sometimes I can check once and then get locked out, other times I get the error immediately. I've found that clearing the app's cache and data sometimes helps, but honestly the whole system needs an overhaul. For something as basic as checking refund status, we shouldn't have to deal with these constant technical issues. The IRS collects our money efficiently enough, but when it comes to giving it back their systems fall apart 🙄

The clearing cache tip is good though, gonna try that next time I get stuck. You re'so right about them being efficient at collecting but terrible at giving back 😂 Really shows where their priorities are
