$4,735 Single Filer Tax Refund Stuck in Processing - "Still Being Processed" Message for Weeks
Getting frustrated with my refund status. I keep checking WMR and IRS2Go but it just shows "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." The amount showing is $5,735.00 and I filed as Single. I've been checking multiple times but the IRS website clearly states "Updates to refund status are made no more than once a day." I've tried looking at their Refund Frequently Asked Questions section about processing delays as suggested, but I'm still in limbo. Anyone else stuck with this same message? How long did you have to wait when you saw this message? Just checked again at 11:34 with only 31% battery left on my phone, and I'm still getting the same message on sa.www4.irs.gov: "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available. For more information about processing delays, please see our Refund Frequently Asked Questions." My filing status shows as "Single" and my Expected Refund Amount stays at $5,735.00, but there's no movement beyond that. They keep telling me to "Please Note: For refund information, please continue to check here, or use our free mobile app, IRS2Go. Updates to refund status are made no more than once a day." I've been religiously checking the "Refund Status Results" page, clicking through "Get Refund Status" and "Refund Help" options, but nothing changes. There's even a "Take Survey" button on the page that I'm tempted to click just to tell them how frustrating this is. Has anyone had any luck getting past this processing stage? Is the IRS just overwhelmed right now? I verified all my tax data and Social Security Number are correct when logging in. Getting really tired of seeing this same message day after day.

The IRS "Where's My Refund" tool is showing your return is in the standard processing phase, with a clear display of your expected refund amount of $4,735.00. The status message "Your tax return is still being processed" indicates your return has been received and entered into the IRS system, but is currently in their review queue. The timestamp of 11:34 and the filing status of "Single" are visible in the system, confirming your basic tax information has been properly recorded. The fact that your refund amount is displayed is actually a positive sign - it means your return has passed the initial acceptance stage. The IRS system notes that updates occur only once per day, so checking multiple times within 24 hours won't show new information. While the processing delay message can be frustrating, it's a common status that many taxpayers are seeing this year. The suggestion to check their Frequently Asked Questions about processing delays indicates this is a known situation they're managing. You can continue monitoring either through this web portal (sa.www4.irs.gov) or through the IRS2Go mobile app - both will show identical information since they pull from the same database.

•Processing times vary widely. Could be 2-8 weeks, sometimes longer if there are verification needs.

Hey guys instead of playing detective with WMR, I started using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. For $1 it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Way better than guessing! https://taxr.ai

I feel your pain! I was stuck with the exact same "still being processed" message for about 6 weeks last year. The waiting is absolutely brutal, especially when you're counting on that money. What helped me was setting up account transcripts online - sometimes they show updates before WMR does. Also, if you haven't already, make sure there are no issues with your bank account info or any changes needed. The IRS customer service line is a nightmare to get through, but if you hit the 8+ week mark, it might be worth the wait. Hang in there, it will eventually move! 🤞
