How to verify income taxes with IRS? Need help ASAP!
Hey everyone, I'm trying to verify my income taxes and I'm not sure where to start. Has anyone gone through this process recently? Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, been there done that. It's such a pain in the ass. Make sure you have all your W-2s and 1099s ready. The IRS website has a section for income verification, but it's about as user-friendly as a brick wall. Good luck!

•I swear the IRS makes it complicated on purpose. Like, do they want our money or not? 🙄

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone quickly. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/bDXD2SD0gGk

•Yeah, it does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me so much time. Worth every penny imo.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your income documents (W-2s, 1099s, etc.) 2. Go to the IRS website and create an account if you haven't already 3. Look for the 'Get Transcript' option 4. Choose 'Wage and Income Transcript' for the year you need 5. If you can't access it online, you can request it by mail 6. Compare the IRS transcript with your records 7. If there are discrepancies, you'll need to contact the IRS directly Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Pro tip: If you're having trouble with the online system, try calling early in the morning or late in the evening. Less wait times!

I've been dealing with this for MONTHS. The IRS sent me a letter saying my reported income doesn't match their records, but I swear I reported everything correctly. Now I'm stuck in bureaucratic limbo. Anyone else in the same boat?

•Yep, welcome to the club. I've been back and forth with them since last year. Hang in there!

•Have you tried contacting a taxpayer advocate? They can sometimes help cut through the red tape.
