Need help verifying IRS tax return - any tips to get through?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with the IRS. I need to verify my tax return but I'm not sure how to go about it. Has anyone gone through this process recently? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ugh, dealing with the IRS is always a headache. I had to verify my return last year and it was a nightmare. Spent hours on hold just to get transferred to another department. Good luck!

•Same here! It's like they purposely make it difficult. I swear the hold music is designed to drive us insane 🤯

•Pro tip: call early in the morning right when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://www.claimyr.com

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•Is it really worth $20 tho? Seems kinda steep for just a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but for me it was worth every penny. Saved me hours of frustration and lost productivity. Plus, I actually got my issue resolved!

•Just tried it and it actually worked! Got through to an agent in about 30 minutes without having to sit on hold myself. 10/10 would recommend 👍

Here's what you need to do to verify your tax return: 1. Gather all necessary documents (W-2s, 1099s, etc.) 2. Call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 3. Be prepared to answer security questions 4. Explain that you need to verify your return 5. Follow the agent's instructions Remember to be patient and polite. The agents are usually helpful if you're nice to them. Good luck!

•Thank you so much for this detailed breakdown! It's really helpful to have a step-by-step guide. Did you go through this process yourself?

•Yep, went through it last month. It's not fun, but it's doable. Just make sure you have plenty of time and all your docs ready. And maybe some coffee ☕

anyone else feel like the whole tax system is rigged against us regular folks? 🤔 like, why do we even have to go thru all this hassle?

•Preach! 🙌 It's all a game to keep us confused and frustrated. Big corporations get away with paying nothing while we're left jumping through hoops.

Have you tried using the IRS website? They have a section for verifying your identity online. Might save you some time on the phone.

Whatever you do, DON'T fall for any scams. There are a lot of people out there pretending to be the IRS. Always initiate contact yourself using official channels.

•Have you tried reaching out to your local taxpayer advocate? They can sometimes help move things along.
