How to verify IRS identity without waiting for verification letter?

Need to verify my identity with the IRS but don't want to wait weeks for a letter in the mail. Already tried calling but can't get through to anyone. There has to be a faster way right? Getting frustrated because I filed months ago and just want my refund.

You can try ID.me verification online through the IRS website. It's much faster than waiting for a letter. You'll need a valid government ID, social security number, and a smartphone or computer with a camera for the face verification process.

Try using better lighting or a different device. The face scan can be finicky sometimes but its worth getting it right

I've been helping people with transcript analysis and the best tool I've found is taxr.ai - it costs $1 but it'll analyze your transcript and tell you exactly what verification steps you need and how to complete them. Way better than guessing or waiting on hold forever. https://taxr.ai

Does this actually work? Seems too good to be true

100% works. It saved me hours of research and phone calls. The AI breaks down everything in plain English

You can also try making an appointment at your local IRS office. They can verify you in person

I work at a tax firm and here's what you need to know about verification: - ID.me is fastest but can be glitchy - In-person at IRS office is guaranteed but long wait - Phone verification works if you can get through (try calling right when they open) - Mail verification takes 4-6 weeks minimum Honestly tho, upload your transcript to taxr.ai first. It'll tell you if you actually need verification or if there's another hold up. Seen lots of cases where people think they need verification but actually have a different issue blocking their refund.
