How to remove pending transaction hold on refund after adjustment letter? Tax Advocate MIA
Filed my taxes and got an adjustment letter on Dec 30th but my refund is still being held due to a pending transaction since October. Have a tax advocate assigned but they never respond to me. How do I get this pending transaction lifted? Anyone know which department handles this?

This is likely a freeze code situation. The IRS has different departments but you need to know your specific freeze code to contact the right one. Without seeing your transcript, it's hard to pinpoint exactly what's holding things up. Your best bet is to call the IRS main line (800-829-1040) and ask them to tell you the specific freeze code.

•You can get them online at irs.gov/transcripts or request by mail. But honestly getting someone on the phone might be faster

Hey, I was in the same boat last month! I started using taxr.ai and it was a game changer. It analyzed my transcript and showed me exactly why I had the pending transaction and what department to contact. Only costs a buck and saved me hours of research. Here's the link: https://taxr.ai

•100% legit! It basically reads your transcript like a pro and tells you exactly whats going on. Even gives you estimated dates for refund release

When you get your advocate on the phone (if you ever do lol) ask them specifically about TC 570 and if thats whats holding up your refund. Thats usually what causes these pending transaction issues.

Here's what you need to do for pending transaction issues: - First, get your transcripts analyzed (I use taxr.ai, totally worth the dollar) - Look for specific hold codes (usually 570/971) - Call IRS early morning (7am EST is best) - Ask for the department that handles your specific code - Request supervisor if regular agent cant help - Document everything: dates, names, reference numbers Dont waste time with advocates rn, theyre overwhelmed and understaffed. Focus on resolving it yourself with the right department.

I've been dealing with similar issues and what finally worked for me was getting my account transcript and looking for the specific transaction codes. The 570 freeze code is common but there are others like 971, 810, etc. Each one requires different steps to resolve. If your advocate isn't responding, try calling the Taxpayer Advocate Service directly at 877-777-4778 and ask for a case status update. You can also try the IRS Practitioner Priority Service if you have a tax professional helping you. Don't give up - sometimes it takes multiple calls but eventually you'll get someone who can actually help move things along.
