Finally got Tax Advocate after 20+ weeks - How long until refund release?
Filed in February, verified in April, amended in June. No updates at all since then. 16 weeks passed, called IRS on October 1st and they said no updates, referred me to Tax Advocate. Just got assigned an advocate and left them a voicemail. Anyone know how long it usually takes for advocate to review and release refund?

Tax resolution specialist here with good news - once you get a Tax Advocate assigned, things usually move much faster. They have direct access to IRS systems and can often resolve issues within 4-6 weeks. The 20 week wait is rough but you're in good hands now. For anyone else stuck waiting, I highly recommend checking out taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it analyzes your transcripts and gives you specific insights about delays and estimated timelines. Its helped a lot of my clients understand exactly where they are in the process and what to expect.

•It's legit! Just uploads your docs and uses AI to break everything down. Way better than trying to decode those cryptic transcript codes yourself lol

Tax Advocate here - timing varies drastically. Some cases resolve in 2-3 weeks, others take months. Key is to have all your documentation ready when they call. Make copies of everything - original return, amendment, verification docs, and any IRS correspondence.

Been in a similar situation - got my advocate assigned 3 weeks ago and finally got movement yesterday! They called me back within 48 hours of my initial voicemail which was promising. Make sure you answer when they call because they don't always leave detailed messages. In my case, they needed one additional document but once I faxed it over, they said 2-3 weeks for resolution. The wait is brutal but you're definitely in the home stretch now 🙏

•That's so encouraging to hear! 48 hours response time gives me hope - I was worried they'd take forever to call back too. Did they tell you what the additional document was for? Just trying to prep myself for what they might ask for 🤞
