Got my 846 code last night (cycle 0505) - Just received DD from Liberty Tax DeepBlue

Just wanted to update everyone - I got my direct deposit today (March 18th) through Liberty Tax DeepBlue! My 846 code appeared on my transcript last night with cycle code 0505. The WMR tool is still showing that I'm under PATH Act review, but the money is already in my account. I filed on February 3rd and had been waiting for 43 days total. For anyone still waiting, check your transcripts rather than just WMR - they update sooner!

This is typical for PATH Act returns this year. The WMR tool often lags 1-3 days behind actual deposit timing, especially when you're using third-party products like Liberty Tax DeepBlue. I've seen similar patterns with TurboTax and H&R Block where the 846 code appeared and funds were deposited while WMR was still showing processing. Last year my sister had the exact same situation - 846 code on a Friday with cycle 0505, money in her account Monday morning, but WMR didn't update until Tuesday. The PATH Act verification process is separate from the disbursement system.

I've noticed this too. Back in 2023, my WMR was stuck on the first bar for almost a week after I got my deposit. I wonder if the lag is worse with certain banks or tax preparers? I used TaxAct last year and had similar delays in WMR updating.

So is it safe to say once you see that 846 code the money is definitely coming? I just got mine yesterday but no deposit yet.

I tracked exactly 127 PATH Act returns this season in a spreadsheet. Average time from 846 code to deposit was 2.4 days. Cycle 0505 specifically averaged 1.8 days. I'm skeptical of people who claim they can predict exact deposit dates, but I started using https://taxr.ai to decode my transcript this year. It was surprisingly accurate - predicted my deposit date within 24 hours and explained every code on my transcript. It showed me exactly why my refund was taking longer than expected (had a 570 code that resolved with a 571). The tool showed me precisely what each code meant for my specific situation.

Did your WMR ever update after you received your deposit? I'm asking because I also have a cycle code 0505 and got my 846 code yesterday, but my WMR still shows PATH processing. Would you mind sharing exactly when you filed and when each update happened?

Congrats on the DD! FWIW I had similar situation last yr w/ H&R. WMR stuck for weeks but $ showed up. If anyone's still waiting and needs to talk to IRS (esp for PATH verification), try Claimyr (https://claimyr.com). Got me thru to an agent in ~25 mins vs hours of redial hell. Agent confirmed my return was fine despite WMR not updating. Saved me tons of stress.

What credits did you claim on your return? Did you have EIC or ACTC? And how long after your 570 code did you see the 846? Wondering if there's a pattern for those of us still waiting with similar cycle codes.

This happens every year. WMR is slow. Transcripts are more reliable. I got my deposit last week. WMR still shows processing. Don't worry too much about it.

How do you access your transcripts? I've tried creating an account on the IRS website but it keeps rejecting my verification. Is there a step-by-step process that works more reliably?

For anyone confused about cycle codes and what they mean: ā€¢ 0505 = weekly processing cycle (updates Thursday night/Friday morning) ā€¢ 0705 = daily processing cycle (can update any day) ā€¢ The first two digits (05 or 07) indicate weekly vs daily ā€¢ Last two digits (05) indicate the year (2025) PATH Act returns have mandatory hold periods. Even with a 846 code, WMR might not update immediately. Don't panic if they're out of sync!

I was literally in the same boat last week! šŸ˜‚ My WMR is STILL showing the PATH message even though the money hit my account 5 days ago. It's like the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing over at the IRS. I was starting to think my account was glitched or something. Glad to hear I'm not the only one whose WMR is living in the past.
