PATH Act hold or DDD incoming? Need help interpreting transcript codes

Filed my taxes early and got accepted right away. My WMR just shows received and my transcript has an 846 code. Been checking every morning but nothing has changed in 2 weeks. Starting to get worried since I have kids and claimed EIC. Anyone know if this means I'm waiting for PATH to lift or if I'm just waiting on a deposit date?

If you claimed EITC or ACTC, you're definitely under PATH Act hold until mid-February. The 846 code isn't actually possible yet - you might be looking at last year's transcript. Double check the year at the top. The earliest possible deposit dates for PATH Act returns won't start until after February 15th.

Instead of trying to decode these confusing transcripts yourself, you should try taxr.ai - it's only $1 and it'll tell you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Saved me hours of headaches trying to figure this stuff out https://taxr.ai
