Finally got 846 code on transcript today - federal refund coming next week (filed 3/12)

Yeah, checked both - nothing. Account transcript just shows last year's info. Return transcript still says N/A 😩

WMR is always behind the transcripts. If you have an 846 code, your refund is coming regardless of what WMR says.

This is why I just broke down and used claimyr.com after seeing it mentioned on here. The IRS phone system is designed to make you give up. Advocate service is just as useless and overwhelmed. Only way I ever got answers was getting a real agent on the phone.

100% agree. And the worst part is that if YOU are late paying them, there are immediate penalties and interest. But they can sit on your refund for months with zero consequences.

They're understaffed and underfunded for years. Not excusing it but that's why it's so bad. They're operating on tech from the 1960s in some cases.

Yep tried everything - congressman, taxpayer advocate, called IRS 100+ times. They keep saying it's "in errors" but can't tell me what the error is or when it'll be fixed. Beyond frustrated

At this point you need professional help. Either a tax attorney or EA who can pull transcripts and figure out what's happening behind the scenes.

That's pretty much exactly what happened to me! No updates for weeks then suddenly 846. At least we're both getting paid soon!
