For those of you still waiting, have you checked your actual transcript? Sometimes there's info there that doesn't show up on WMR. You can access it at irs.gov if you create an account.

Not sketchy at all! They basically navigate the IRS phone system and when they get to an agent, they connect you. I was doubtful too but after trying to get through myself for weeks it was totally worth it. The agent I spoke to cleared up my hold immediately.

Nope! WMR showed the DDD and then changed back to "still processing" a day before I was supposed to get it. The IRS is a total clown show this year 🤡

I used FreeTaxUSA and got mine in 2 weeks flat. Maybe just luck of the draw? Or maybe the big companies have some kinda priority lolol

Nah, I used TurboTax and waited 11 weeks. I think it depends more on what's on your return than who you filed with. Any credits or deductions seem to flag it for manual review.

766 is actually good news - it's a credit to your account! Usually means tax credits being applied like EITC, CTC, etc.

Try claimyr.com to actually get through to a real person. I was in the same boat and getting nowhere until I talked to an actual agent who could see my file and fix the issue holding it up. My DDD appeared 2 days later.

Amended returns are taking 20+ weeks minimum right now. I filed an amended return in August 2023 and just got it processed last month.

omg that's insane. why even bother having a tax system at this point
