Filed taxes in January, IRS transcript still blank. No updates. Help?
Hey everyone, I filed my taxes back in January and it's been months now, but my transcript is still blank. No updates at all. Anyone else dealing with this? What should I do? I'm getting worried.

Ugh, same boat here. Filed in February and zilch. It's like our returns went into a black hole or something. Have you tried calling the IRS? I heard they're swamped but might be worth a shot.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold last week.

•30 mins? You lucked out! I was on hold for 2 hours yesterday and then got disconnected 🤦♂️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your transcript online if you haven't already. Sometimes there are codes that can give you clues. 2. If it's truly blank, you might need to verify your identity. The IRS has been extra cautious lately. 3. Call the IRS early in the morning. Be prepared with your info. 4. If you can't get through, consider contacting your local Taxpayer Advocate Service. 5. Double-check that your return was actually accepted. Sometimes there are submission errors. Don't panic yet. The IRS is seriously backlogged this year. But if it's been more than 21 days since you e-filed, definitely follow up.

•This is solid advice. I work in tax prep and can confirm the IRS is a mess right now. Patience is key, but also don't be afraid to advocate for yourself.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Totally get the skepticism, but yeah it's legit. I was desperate and took a chance. Saved me hours of hold time.

Have you checked for any letters from the IRS? Sometimes they need additional info and won't process until they get it. happened to me last year

Plot twist: the IRS is actually a front for a time travel agency and our tax returns are funding their secret missions 👽🕰️
