Filed taxes in January, IRS transcript still blank. No updates. Help?

Ugh, same boat here. Filed in February and zilch. It's like our returns went into a black hole or something. Have you tried calling the IRS? I heard they're swamped but might be worth a shot.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your transcript online if you haven't already. Sometimes there are codes that can give you clues. 2. If it's truly blank, you might need to verify your identity. The IRS has been extra cautious lately. 3. Call the IRS early in the morning. Be prepared with your info. 4. If you can't get through, consider contacting your local Taxpayer Advocate Service. 5. Double-check that your return was actually accepted. Sometimes there are submission errors. Don't panic yet. The IRS is seriously backlogged this year. But if it's been more than 21 days since you e-filed, definitely follow up.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Have you checked for any letters from the IRS? Sometimes they need additional info and won't process until they get it. happened to me last year
