Filed taxes: State refund received but Federal still on hold - what gives?
I filed both my state and federal returns at the same time back in February. My state refund came within 2 weeks but my federal return is still showing as processing. When I check the Where's My Refund tool it just says still processing with no updates. Anyone else dealing with this? Starting to get worried since its been months now.

The federal return likely got flagged for additional review, which could be due to various reasons like income verification, credits claimed, or identity verification. Check your IRS transcript online - it'll show you if there are any specific hold codes or if additional documentation is needed.

Go to irs.gov and create an account if you haven't already. Look for 'Get Transcript Online' option. You'll need some verification docs handy tho
