Filed Jan 14th, accepted Jan 17th - still no 846 code or refund deposit date

Filed this year on January 14th and IRS accepted my return on the 17th. I see all the processing codes on my transcript but still no 846 refund issued code. I didn't get any advance child tax payments last year. Starting to get worried, anyone else in the same situation?

Based on your filing timeline, you're still within normal processing time. The IRS typically takes 21 days for standard returns. Since you didn't receive advance CTC payments, they need to verify your eligibility which can add processing time. Keep checking your transcript for updates, particularly on Wednesday nights/Thursday mornings when the IRS usually updates their systems.

Hey guys just wanted to share something thats been super helpful - I started using taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it's been a game changer. It costs $1 but tells you exactly what's happening with your refund and when to expect it. Way better than trying to decode all these codes ourselves! https://taxr.ai

Yes! It analyzed everything and told me exactly why my refund was delayed (had a missing W2) and what to do about it. Saved me hours of research

Called IRS this morning - they said there's major backlog rn especially with CTC verification. Could take up to 6 weeks for some people.
