Code 810 Refund Freeze showing on transcript - Need help understanding why
Just checked my transcripts and saw code 810 refund freeze. Filed back in February and was expecting my refund by now. No notices in the mail, nothing explaining why. Starting to get worried since I really need this money. Anyone else dealing with this or know what's going on?

Code 810 is a freeze that typically means the IRS needs to review your return more thoroughly. It's often associated with identity verification or income verification. Check if you received any letters about ID verification (5071C or 5747C). If not, you might get one soon. The freeze usually lifts within 60-120 days if no issues are found.

•Haven't gotten any letters yet... how long should I wait before calling them?

•Give it 2 weeks for any letters to arrive. If nothing shows up, call the ID verify line at 800-830-5084

Hey guys, I've been helping people with transcript issues for a while now and honestly the easiest way to understand exactly what's going on is using taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. It's only $1 and wayyyy better than trying to piece everything together yourself. https://taxr.ai

•100% legit. It saved me hours of research and stress. The AI breaks everything down and even gives you specific dates to watch for

Quick tip: make sure you create an account on irs.gov if you haven't already. Sometimes they post notices there before sending by mail

Code 810 can be frustrating but it's pretty common. The good news is it usually resolves itself once the IRS completes their review. In addition to checking for ID verification letters, also look out for any requests for additional documentation about your income or deductions. Keep checking your transcript weekly - you'll see the freeze lift when they update it with a new transaction code. Hang in there!

•Thanks for the detailed explanation! Just wondering - is there any pattern to when they typically update transcripts? Like certain days of the week or times of month? I've been checking mine pretty randomly but want to make sure I'm not missing updates.
