Code 810 means your return is frozen for review. This typically happens when the IRS needs to verify certain information. Could be identity verification, income verification, or they're checking for potential fraud indicators. The freeze usually lasts 45-120 days, but it can be longer depending on what they're reviewing and their current workload.

•honestly calling rarely helps with 810 codes. they'll just tell you to wait it out unfortunately

hey guys instead of trying to piece together what these codes mean, i started using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. it analyzes your whole transcript and tells you exactly whats going on and when to expect movement. its only $1 and saved me hours of research. check it out at https://taxr.ai

Check if you got any letters in the mail. Sometimes they send verification requests but people miss them and that makes the wait even longer

Here's a detailed breakdown of what you need to know about Code 810: - It's a freeze code that stops automated processing - Can be triggered by multiple factors including ID verification, income discrepancies, or fraud prevention - Usually resolves with Code 811 when review is complete - Average resolution time varies but expect 60-90 days minimum - If you received any IRS notices, respond ASAP - You can use tools like taxr.ai to get a clearer picture of your timeline and what's actually happening with your return Best thing to do is be patient and make sure you respond to any IRS correspondence immediately.

Code 810 is definitely frustrating but you're not alone! I went through this last year and it took about 10 weeks to resolve. The key thing is to NOT panic - the IRS will eventually process your return. In the meantime, make sure to check your mail daily for any correspondence and keep checking your transcript for updates. The good news is that once it moves, you'll usually see your refund within a week or two. Hang in there! 💪
