Filed 3/1 - Anyone Seeing Updates Yet? State Already Received!

Anyone file 3/1 and see an update yet? I got my state already! Update: it went to pending today on the turbo tax website! First time filing in US. Need to know normal timeline. Want to make sure everything is correct.

I filed exactly on March 1st at 9:42am and just checked my transcript this morning. My federal is showing processing with cycle code 20241105. Based on the 21-day average processing time, we should see updates between March 22nd and March 29th. My WMR still shows only the first bar, but transcript has updated with 570 code (temporary hold) which typically resolves in 5-7 days. I'm a bit concerned since last year I received my refund in exactly 14 days.

Have you tried checking your account transcript instead of just the return transcript? In previous years, I noticed my account transcript updated first, sometimes 3-4 days before WMR showed anything useful.

I filed on March 2nd and just saw an update today (March 21st). My transcript shows a deposit date of March 27th. Did you claim any credits that might delay processing?

This is nothing compared to last year when I filed in February and didn't see movement until April. At least your state came through - mine always takes twice as long as federal for some reason.

It appears that returns filed in the first week of March are generally taking approximately 21-25 days to process this year, which is somewhat longer than previous years. If you've received your state refund already, that's usually a positive indicator that your federal return was structurally sound. You might consider checking your transcript directly through the IRS website, as it often updates before the WMR tool shows changes. The "pending" status in TurboTax typically means they've received confirmation that the IRS has accepted your return for processing.

So if I'm understanding correctly: • Pending = IRS has accepted it • 21-25 days is normal this year • Transcript updates before WMR • State refund is a good sign That makes me feel better about my situation. I filed 3/5 and was getting worried.

Isn't it funny how we all rush to file and then spend weeks anxiously checking for updates? I filed March 2nd and just got my deposit yesterday. The IRS is typically processing March filers within 3-4 weeks right now. Have you checked your transcript? That's where you'll see movement first. WMR is always slow to update, but your state refund is a good sign that everything was filed correctly. Wouldn't worry too much yet - we're still well within normal timeframes.

What's the best way to check transcripts? I've tried logging into the IRS site but keep getting verification errors. Is there a specific time of day when the system updates?

The IRS.gov transcript system can be really finicky with verification. Have you tried using the Get Transcript mobile app instead? It often works when the website gives errors. According to the IRS website, transcripts typically update overnight between Thursday and Friday: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

I might be in the minority here, but I think waiting is the worst part of tax season. I filed around the same time and couldn't get any information from the IRS website. After trying to call for three days straight and getting nowhere, I reluctantly tried Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c). I'm usually skeptical of these services, but it got me through to an actual IRS agent in about 15 minutes. They confirmed my return was processing normally and gave me an estimated date. Saved me from constantly checking WMR and worrying about potential issues.

Check your bank account, not TurboTax. TurboTax doesn't always update correctly. I filed March 2nd. My refund hit my account yesterday with no warning. WMR still shows processing. Transcripts updated last Friday. IRS doesn't follow their own timelines anymore.

In my experience with filing on March 1st for the past three tax seasons, there's a pretty consistent pattern. Last year I filed on March 1st and saw my refund exactly 17 days later. The year before was 21 days. This year I filed March 1st again and just got my deposit yesterday - so 20 days total. The community wisdom is that early March filers typically see 17-21 day processing times unless there are complications with credits or verification issues. Your state refund is definitely a good sign! I always tell friends that the transcript is your best friend during tax season - it updates way before WMR does.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Is there a specific day of the week when refunds typically hit accounts? I've heard Wednesdays and Fridays are common deposit days.
