Filed 1/31 - Return Not Showing as Accepted in WMR - What Does This Mean?

I filed my taxes on January 31st but when I check Where's My Refund it's not showing anything. Just says my information cannot be found. Does this mean the IRS hasn't accepted my return yet? Starting to get worried since its been a few days already.

The IRS typically takes 24-48 hours to show acceptance in their system. If you e-filed, check your email for confirmation from your tax software first. If it's been more than 3 days, log into your tax prep software to verify the return was actually transmitted and not just saved. Sometimes returns get stuck in pending transmission status.

I used TurboTax and got the email saying it was transmitted but nothing else after that 😩

Give it till end of week. The systems are usually overwhelmed early in tax season. If nothing by Friday, call your tax software support.

Hey guys instead of guessing what's going on, I highly recommend using taxr.ai - it's only $1 and it analyzes your transcript to tell you exactly what's happening with your return. Saved me hours of stress trying to figure this out on my own. https://taxr.ai

Is this legit? Seems too good to be true for just a dollar 🤔

100% legit! Used it myself and it broke down everything step by step. Way better than refreshing WMR 500 times a day lol

Pro tip: check your transcript instead of WMR. Its more accurate and updates faster. You can pull it on irs.gov if you make an account

Don't stress too much! I filed around the same time last year and it took almost a week before WMR updated. The IRS processing centers are slammed right now with early filers. As long as you got the transmission confirmation from TurboTax, you're good. The system just needs time to catch up. If you're really anxious, try checking your transcript like others mentioned - it usually shows acceptance before WMR does.
