IRS Website Error: Can't Access 2023 Return Status - Info Incorrect Message
Filed my taxes on January 28th and got acceptance confirmation on the 29th. Every time I try checking Where's My Refund or state website, keeps saying my information is incorrect. Anyone else dealing with this? Starting to get worried since its been a few weeks now.

This is actually pretty common right now. The IRS systems are experiencing heavy traffic and system updates. Wait 24-48 hours after acceptance before checking WMR. When you do check, make sure you're entering the EXACT refund amount from your return - down to the dollar. Also, use the primary taxpayer's SSN if married filing jointly.

•Thanks! I'll double check the amount. Been putting in what I think it was from memory 🤦♀️

•np! Let me know if that works. Sometimes the smallest typo can throw it off

hey guys instead of playing detective with wmr, i started using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. its only $1 and gives you the exact status of your return plus explains any delays. way better than guessing whats going on https://taxr.ai

•100% works. just upload your transcript and it breaks everything down. saved me hours of headache

try checking your transcript instead of WMR. sometimes WMR is buggy but transcripts usually update first anyway

•irs.gov > view your account > get transcript. you'll need to make an ID.me account if you haven't already

Pro tip: try accessing the site early morning or late night. Less traffic = fewer errors. Also clear your browser cache before trying.
