Action Required Message on IRS Refund Tracker - No Letter Yet (Filed 1/21)
Filed my taxes through TurboTax and got accepted January 21st. Now when I check Where's My Refund it shows action required and says they'll send a letter. Its been weeks and still no letter in the mail. Starting to get worried about whats going on with my refund.

This is actually pretty common right now. The 'action required' message usually means they need to verify something. Could be identity verification, income verification, or they spotted a discrepancy. Keep checking your mail - letters can take 2-3 weeks to arrive. In the meantime, you can create an ID.me account and check your IRS account transcript to see if there are any specific codes or notices posted.

•You'll need to create an ID.me account on IRS.gov first. Then look for 'Get Transcript' option. Fair warning - the verification process can be a pain

Call the IRS early in the morning like 7am EST. Thats how I finally got through and found out they needed my 2021 AGI verification

I actually got my letter yesterday after seeing that message for 3 weeks. They just needed me to verify my identity on ID.me. Once I did that it updated to approved within 48 hrs
