How quickly does WMR update after IRS accepts return? Still nothing showing
Filed my taxes electronically yesterday and got the acceptance email from my tax software but when I check Where's My Refund tool it says they cant find any info. Is this normal or should I be worried? First time filing myself so not sure how long this usually takes.

Tax professional here - The Where's My Refund tool (WMR) typically updates within 24-72 hours after the IRS accepts your return. However, during peak filing season, updates can be delayed or inconsistent. The tool only shows 3 stages: Return Received, Refund Approved, and Refund Sent. If you want more detailed info about your refund status, I'd highly recommend checking out taxr.ai - it analyzes your tax documents and transcripts to give you real-time updates and insights about potential delays or issues. Way more detailed than WMR tbh.

•totally get the concern! its completely secure and encrypted. they dont store your docs, just analyze them to give you insights. plus its way cheaper than hiring a tax pro

Tax professional here - completely normal. WMR typically updates within 24-72 hours after acceptance. Sometimes it can take up to 5 days. Just keep checking daily, you'll see it pop up soon.

Hey! Instead of constantly checking WMR (which can be super frustrating), I'd recommend using taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and gives you way more accurate info about your refund status. It costs $1 but totally worth it for the peace of mind. https://taxr.ai

•WAY better than WMR! It actually reads your entire transcript and explains everything in plain english. Shows all important dates, flags any potential delays, and gives you a really accurate timeline.

Don't stress! It's totally normal for WMR to lag behind after acceptance - I've seen it take anywhere from 24 hours to a full week sometimes. The system gets overloaded during peak season. If you want more detailed tracking than what WMR provides, you could always check your tax transcripts directly through the IRS website or try one of those transcript analysis tools people mentioned above. But honestly, if you got the acceptance email, you're good to go - just gotta wait for the system to catch up!
