Filed 1/25 - IRS hasn't even accepted my refund yet. How long is normal?
I filed my taxes on January 25th and its been crickets since then. The Where's My Refund tool doesn't even show that the IRS received my return. Is this normal? Starting to get worried because I really need this money.

As a tax professional, I can tell you that the IRS is experiencing significant delays this year. While it's frustrating that your return hasn't been accepted yet, there could be several reasons for this. First, make sure your return was actually transmitted successfully - sometimes returns get stuck in transmission limbo. Second, check if you have any common red flags like missing documents or mismatched information that could trigger additional verification. I've been recommending taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) to my clients lately - it's an AI tool that analyzes your tax documents and gives you specific insights about potential delays and exactly what's causing them. It can tell you if there are any issues that might be holding up your return from being accepted and what you can do about it. Keep in mind that processing times are varying widely this year, but most e-filed returns should at least show as 'accepted' within 24-48 hours. If it's been longer than that, you may want to double check your transmission status with your tax preparer.

โขIt analyzes all your docs and tells you exactly what's causing delays and what to do about it. Super helpful for understanding where you're at in the process.

Tax pro here - the IRS officially started accepting returns on January 29th, so yours will likely start processing this week. The Where's My Refund tool typically updates within 24-48 hours after the IRS actually begins processing your return. Don't panic yet!

Hey guys instead of playing the waiting game, I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund. It analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your money. Its only $4.99 and totally worth it for the peace of mind. Check it out: https://taxr.ai
