Filed 1/27, No Return Filed status on IRS Transcripts + ID Verify Required Again - No Letter Yet

Filed my return on 1/27 and transcripts showing no record of return filed. Got prompted to verify identity again even though I used my taxpayer PIN. WMR still says processing. Called IRS today and they said I have to wait for verification letter (nothing before 21 days after 2/3). Had same issue last year but was able to verify over phone without letter. Anyone else dealing with this?

This is happening to a lot of people right now. The IRS has increased their verification requirements this year. Even with a PIN, they're requiring additional verification for many returns. Best to wait for the letter - trying to bypass it usually just creates more delays. The 21-day timeline they gave you is pretty standard.

Totally get it. The system is definitely not perfect, but they're trying to prevent fraud. Hang in there!

Just tried taxr.ai and it actually showed me exactly why this is happening - turns out its a specific verification code on my transcript. Only cost $1 and saved me hours of research. Highly recommend checking it out: https://taxr.ai

Yeah its legit! Shows you exactly whats going on with your return and when to expect movement. Way better than trying to decode transcripts yourself

Quick tip: take screenshots of everything. Document all your calls. Trust me, youll need it if things go sideways

I waited 3 weeks for my letter last year and it never came. Finally had to go to my local IRS office to sort it out. Might be worth considering if you dont get yours soon.
