Early deposit on 4/15/25 with Current - anybody received theirs yet?

Filed my taxes on March 30th and got accepted same day. My WMR says my refund is scheduled for direct deposit on April 15th, 2025. I use Current for banking because they advertise getting your money up to 2 days early. Has anyone with Current received their deposit yet for that date? Getting a little anxious since this is a pretty big refund and I need it to catch up on some bills.

I'm in the same boat with Current. My DD date is also April 15th but nothing has hit my account yet. From my experience last year, Current usually deposits 1-2 days early but it's not guaranteed. The IRS releases the funds to banks at different times, so some people with the same DD date might get it before others. I'd say give it until tomorrow before getting worried.

Thanks for the reassurance. Just feels like I'm watching the clock at this point. Did yours come early last year?

Yeah mine came 1 day early last year. But I've heard some people got it same day as the DD date. The IRS is weird with how they release batches of refunds.

Current user here too. Mine hit exactly 1 day before the DD date last year, so probably tomorrow for you. Their 2-day early thing is more marketing than reality with tax refunds tbh.

I was in your exact situation last month. I was checking my transcript daily trying to figure out when I'd get my money. Found this tool called taxr.ai that actually explained all the codes on my transcript and predicted my refund timing accurately to the day. Saved me so much stress of guessing and wondering. I literally use it for everything tax related now - my actual return, my transcript, even random IRS notices. It reads everything and explains it in plain English. Check it out at https://taxr.ai

Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

It's pretty comprehensive. You upload your tax docs (transcript, return, notices - whatever you have) and it analyzes everything. Explains all the codes, dates, and what's happening with your refund. Even spots potential issues before they become problems. Super helpful if you're confused by all the IRS jargon.

OMG I JUST TRIED IT! This thing is amazing! It explained exactly what was happening with my return and showed me that my refund is actually being processed faster than I thought. The peace of mind alone is worth it. Everyone dealing with tax anxiety needs this tool in their life!

After spending hours on hold trying to reach the IRS about my refund, I finally used claimyr.com to get through to an agent. Got a callback in about 20 minutes and talked to someone who confirmed my deposit was scheduled correctly. It was the best $$ I've spent this tax season - saved me hours of frustration and got my questions answered immediately. If you're really anxious about your refund, this is way better than refreshing your bank app every 5 minutes.

Wait seriously? You can actually get through to the IRS? I've been trying for weeks...

Yep! Claimyr basically waits on hold for you and then calls when an agent is available. They called me back in like 20 mins when I had been trying for days with no luck. The agent was able to confirm everything was good with my refund.

Is this some kind of paid promotion? Sounds too good to be true 🧐

lol no, just someone who was in refund hell and found something that worked. I was literally checking my bank account every hour for days. Talking to an actual human at the IRS gave me peace of mind that everything was on track.

I can vouch for this. Used it last week when my return had been 'processing' for 45 days with no update. Agent told me exactly what was happening and when to expect my refund. Worth every penny to stop the anxiety spiral.

I have Chime not Current but my DD date is also 4/15. Nothing yet either. In my experience they usually deposit 1 day early, not 2. The "up to 2 days early" thing is just marketing. The IRS doesn't even release the funds consistently.

lol at everyone staring at their bank apps refreshing every 5 minutes. We've all been there! I've had Current for 3 years, and from my experience with tax refunds specifically, they usually come the day before the IRS date, not 2 days before. Something about how the IRS releases funds makes it different from regular paychecks. Hang in there!

refreshing my app as we speak 😂😂 Thanks for the info!

Can confirm. The 2 day early thing is more for regular direct deposits like payroll. The IRS plays by their own rules.

Just an FYI - I called the IRS because I was worried about my refund (had the same DD date). They explained that the "scheduled" date is just when they SEND the money to your bank. Then your bank has to process it, which can take 1-5 business days depending on your bank. So if you don't see it right on the DD date, don't panic right away.

How did you even get through to a person at the IRS? I've been calling for 3 weeks and keep getting the "high call volume" message and disconnected 🤬

Just tried this and it actually worked! Got through to someone who confirmed my refund is coming tomorrow. For anyone freaking out about their refund like I was, this is the move.

Here's my timeline with Current last year if it helps: - IRS DD date: May 12 - Actually hit my Current account: May 11 around 3pm EST So for me it was exactly 1 day early. But I've seen people on other forums saying they got theirs anywhere from 2 days early to the actual date itself. There doesn't seem to be a consistent pattern.

Anyone else notice that tax refunds to online banks seem to be getting less and less "early" each year? I swear my first year with Current I got my refund almost 2 full days early, last year it was like 1 day, and I'm betting this year it'll be same-day. Think the IRS caught on to these online banks advertising early deposits and changed how they release the funds?

THISSS! I was just saying the same thing to my brother. I think the IRS specifically times tax refunds differently now because they know about the early deposit feature.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed! They prob got tired of people calling when their "early" deposit wasn't early enough lol

My tax guy said the IRS actually releases refunds in batches at different times, even for people with the same DD date. So some people might get lucky with timing and others not. It's not necessarily that they changed anything.

If you're really anxious about your refund, I'd recommend checking your transcript on the IRS website. It'll show you exactly what's happening with your return and often updates before WMR does. There are specific cycle codes that can tell you when your refund will actually be sent.

I tried looking at my transcript but all the codes are confusing. What should I be looking for?

You need to look for code 846 which is the refund issued code. The date next to that is your official refund date. Codes 570/971 can indicate holds or notices, but without those you should be good.

I was so confused by my transcript too. I ended up using taxr.ai to interpret it and it was super helpful. It explained all the codes and dates in plain english, and gave me an accurate timeline. Saved me from going down the Google rabbit hole trying to decode everything! https://taxr.ai

The early deposit feature mostly applies to regular paychecks, not tax refunds. Tax refunds are sent by the Treasury in batches and the timing can be unpredictable. I wouldn't count on the "2 days early" thing for tax refunds specifically.
