Credit Union DDD 3/12 check in... nothing as of 8am - anyone else?

My transcript shows Direct Deposit Date of 3/12 with my credit union, but I just checked my account at 8am and nothing's showing up yet. Is this normal? How long does it usually take for funds to actually post? Should I be worried that something's wrong with my banking info? I double-checked everything when I filed...

Been there, done that, got the anxiety t-shirt! šŸ˜… Credit unions often process deposits in batches throughout the day. Mine showed up around 11am last year despite having a morning DDD. The IRS technically has until midnight on your DDD to release the funds, and then your credit union might take a few more hours to actually post it. I'd say don't panic until tomorrow morning... though I know that's easier said than done when you're refreshing your account every 5 minutes like I did!

Have you tried calling your credit union to see if they can see a pending deposit? Or perhaps the IRS to confirm they sent it to the correct account? Sometimes these things get delayed for the most mundane reasons, don't they? I was in this exact situation last year and spent 3 days trying to reach someone at the IRS. Finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and got through in about 25 minutes. The agent confirmed they had sent the deposit but it was delayed in the ACH system. Showed up the next day. Wouldn't it be nice if these systems were more transparent?

I'm concerned about using third-party services to contact the IRS. First, how does this actually work? Second, is there a fee involved? Third, couldn't this potentially delay things further if there's an issue with the service?

Thank you for sharing this. Been trying to call IRS for days. Couldn't get through. Will try this option.

I used Claimyr on February 28th when my refund was 15 days late. The IRS agent confirmed my return was flagged for manual review due to a mismatch. Had it resolved by March 4th. Without reaching an agent, I'd still be waiting today.

Thanks for this suggestion! Might be worth trying compared to the hours I've spent on hold with nothing to show for it.

I'm in the exact same boat! My DDD is also 3/12 with my credit union. It's like waiting for a package that says "out for delivery" but never arrives at your door. Last year I obsessively checked every hour until it finally showed up around 2pm. Credit unions often process these in batches throughout the day, so I've learned to just set a reminder to check at noon and 5pm instead of driving myself crazy. If it doesn't show by tomorrow morning, that's when I'd start making calls.

I might suggest, if you don't mind my saying, that you could perhaps look at your transcript again to verify there aren't any additional codes or notices. Sometimes there might be something that indicates a potential issue. I was quite impressed with https://taxr.ai when I used it to analyze my transcript last month. It explained every code and gave me a better understanding of where my refund actually was in the process. It might help you determine if there's truly a delay or if everything is proceeding normally.

Last year I had a DDD and the money never showed up. Turns out my refund was intercepted for an old student loan I didn't know was in default. I spent THREE WEEKS trying to figure out what happened before getting that answer. The IRS had sent a letter explaining this, but it arrived a week AFTER the DDD. I would have saved myself so much stress if I'd just called right away when the money didn't show up on DDD day. Don't be like me - if it doesn't show by tomorrow, start making calls!

Has anyone else with the same DDD received their deposit yet? Have you checked the IRS2Go app to see if there's any updated status? Sometimes the app shows different information than the website, doesn't it? I've noticed that credit unions often process deposits in batches, so it might just be waiting in the queue. But it's also possible there could be an issue with the routing or account number if you entered it manually rather than verifying from last year's return?

THIS IS NORMAL! I'm seeing dozens of posts about 3/12 DDDs not showing up yet. The IRS batch processing system is overwhelmed right now! šŸ˜¤ The Treasury sends these in massive batches to the Federal Reserve, which then distributes to banks and credit unions. Credit unions typically process these 2-3 times per day. YOU WILL GET YOUR MONEY! If it doesn't show by tomorrow morning, then you can start to worry. But I'd bet good money it posts sometime today.

My deposit was *supposed* to arrive by 8am on my DDD too, but it didn't actually post until around 3pm. The credit union rep explained that they sometimes receive multiple ACH files throughout the day, and tax refunds might be in any of them. I sort of understand why they can't predict exactly when it will post, but it's definitely frustrating when you're counting on those funds. Maybe check again around noon?

Try these steps instead of worrying: ā€¢ Call your credit union and ask if they see a pending deposit ā€¢ Check if your transcript still shows the same DDD ā€¢ Look for any offset codes on your transcript (TOP is common) ā€¢ Verify your account/routing numbers on your return If none of these show issues, just wait until tomorrow. Most DDDs arrive by end of day, but some credit unions don't process until overnight.

This is my first time getting a refund with this credit union. Called them and they said tax refunds usually post by 2pm. Just checked again and it's there now! Thanks everyone for keeping me from panicking.
