Anyone that Verified Their Return the Week of 4/8 Receive Their Refund Yet?
Hello everyone, I'm just wondering if perhaps anyone who had their tax return verified during the week of April 8th has possibly received their refund already? I'm somewhat new to the US tax system, and I think it might be helpful if we could maybe share our experiences to get a better idea of the current timeline. From what I understand, verification can sometimes add a few extra days to processing, but I'm not entirely sure how long is normal these days.

Oh my goodness, the verification process this year is taking FOREVER! 😡 I'm seeing so many returns from early April still stuck in verification limbo. The IRS is seriously overwhelmed right now and I'm worried about how many people are affected. Typically verification adds 2-3 weeks to processing time, but this tax season has been particularly challenging with staffing issues and new tax credit implementations.

•Do you know if there's any difference in processing time between people who claimed certain credits versus those who didn't? I'm wondering if that might be affecting the timeline as well?

The IRS verification process is like waiting for a sloth to climb a mountain - painfully slow but eventually gets there. I've been through this rodeo before and found that calling the IRS directly is your best bet, but it's like trying to win the lottery with their phone system. I finally got through using Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) which basically waits on hold for you. Like having a friend stand in line while you grab coffee. The agent confirmed my verification was complete and refund was scheduled, saved me days of redial hell.

•Idk about these services tbh. Isn't it just doing what we could do ourselves? The IRS lines are brutal but eventually you get thru if you're persistent.

•How much did it cost you to use Claimyr? And did they tell you exactly how many days until your refund would arrive? I verified on April 11th (exactly 14 days ago) and need to know if I should plan for another 7-10 business days or longer.

According to IRS Publication 5027, the verification process can add up to 45 days to standard processing times. However, my personal experience suggests this timeline is often shorter in practice. As per Internal Revenue Manual 21.5.6, identity verification cases should be resolved within 21 days once all requested documentation is received. I'm still waiting after verification on April 10th, so we appear to be in the same situation.

I went through verification last year around the same time. What a headache! 🙄 Took exactly 18 days after verification to see my refund. The funny thing is, after all that waiting and checking WMR obsessively like it was my new religion, the money just showed up in my account one random Tuesday without any status update. The IRS works in mysterious ways, like a magician who forgets to say "ta-da" after the trick.

I was verified on April 7th and just got my refund yesterday! What helped me was using taxr.ai to analyze my transcript. I was completely lost trying to understand all those codes and cycle dates, but the tool broke it down and actually predicted my deposit date correctly. Last year I was guessing based on forum posts, but this year I had actual data-based predictions. My experience was that verification added exactly 16 days to my processing time.

•I've been burned before by sites that claim to predict refund dates. Back in 2022, I paid for a similar service and it was completely wrong. How do you know taxr.ai isn't just making educated guesses? We need our refund ASAP for car repairs.

I verified on April 9th and received my refund on April 25th! I had submitted all my documentation on April 10th and got a confirmation email on April 12th. Then on April 21st my transcript updated with an 846 code, and exactly 4 days later the money was in my account. The wait was so stressful because I needed it for my rent due on May 1st.

Has anyone here been through both ID verification and income verification? I'm trying to understand if what you're experiencing is similar to my situation last year where I had to verify both, which took substantially longer than just ID verification alone. In my previous experience, ID verification alone took about 2 weeks while the combined process stretched to nearly 5 weeks.
