Mark I keep getting the same error code for two days now but I am able to sign in with ID me to get into my social security account. So this is not a problem with ID mean it appears to be a problem with the IRS and their website and hopefully everything will get back to normal is coming week

Something in the system hasn’t caught up yet then. Call and ask an agent with the IRS. They should be able to help. If you want your hold time reduced and a guaranteed call with an agent I would recommend selecting the IRS line and pressing call now above.

I just want to view my and I’m verified with already…. I had and it worked without a hitch, yet when trying to use it for the irs I keep getting that code

I signed in my idm in it said error -8028 but it said my was accepted but I been waiting 4 months should I be worried?

I have been waiting for since March (2021 taxes) and have been checking for 9 months. I checked the IRS site around Thanksgiving and started to get the 8028 error message. To my surprise yesterday, I finally saw the sent message via "Where's my " and it will be deposited on 12/21. I am still getting the 8028 message however on the IRS.gov site. Hope this is helpful to some.

I can't speak on behalf of all but coincidental the error started to happen around the time activity remedied against my claim. Some additional info for those awaiting refunds and getting this error. I changed jobs in 2021, maxed out social security contribution from both companies (so I was owned a for that). I did receive small child tax credit payments and did take out a small distribution from a 529 for one of my children. All of this appeared on my transcript when I was able to view. Not sure about everyone else but I had a few things on mine that I assume needed more review from the IRS.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue! Been getting error 8028 for about 3 weeks now trying to access transcripts, even though my verification is working fine for other services. From what I've read in this thread, it seems like there might be some backend processing delays on the IRS side that don't sync up properly with verification. @Mike C mentioned that his error persisted even after his was processed, so it might just be a waiting game unfortunately. I m'going to try the phone number approach that @Todd Brown suggested rather than deal with the regular customer service wait times. Let me know if you find any other solutions!
