2023 Tax Return Stuck - Only As Of Date Changed on Transcript

Hey there, after looking at many transcripts over the years, I can tell you that the As-Of date changing by itself doesn't necessarily mean anything is happening with your return. The as of date changes don't really mean anything significant. It's just an automated system cycle date. What matters are the actual transaction codes on your transcript. Without seeing those, it's hard to tell where you're at in the process.

Its literally the worst. My as of date changed 4 times already an still nothing. Bills are stacking up and the IRS doesnt care smh

Look for cycle codes ending in 05. Those usually update on Thursday nights/Friday mornings. If yours ends in 01-04, updates happen daily.

Called the IRS about this exact thing last week. They said as long as theres no errors or review codes, its just moving through the system. But like... moving WHERE? 😤

Have you tried calling the taxpayer advocate service? They might be able to give you more insight into what's actually going on with your return since you filed back in January.
