What does 'As of date' on IRS transcript keep updating mean?
My transcript keeps showing an 'as of' date that updates every week but nothing else changes. Been waiting since February and getting nervous about my refund. Anyone know what this means or been through the same thing?

The 'as of' date is just a processing cycle marker - it doesn't necessarily mean anything is happening with your return. It's a common system update that happens regularly. If you're not seeing any other codes or updates, your return is likely still in the processing queue.

•Unfortunately waiting is usually the only option. Have you tried calling the IRS? Sometimes they can give more specific info about whats holding things up.

Hey! I was in the same boat and discovered taxr.ai - it's this tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's going on and when to expect your refund. It costs $1 but saved me weeks of guessing. Here's the link: https://taxr.ai

Pro tip: check your transcript early morning on Wednesdays and Fridays, thats when they usually do the real updates.

I learned way too much about this last year dealing with delays. The 'as of' date is basically meaningless unless you see actual transaction codes changing. But here's what helped me track everything: - Check for any notice issued codes (971) - Look for freeze codes (570) - Watch for 846 code (that's the refund issued!) - Use taxr.ai to decode everything (seriously saved my sanity) The tool will tell you exactly what each code means for YOUR situation and when you can expect movement. Way better than playing detective with google searches!
