Blank IRS Transcript - How to determine processing cycle with no info showing?
My transcript is completely blank when I check it online. No codes, no dates, nothing. Been checking for weeks and still nothing showing up. Anyone know how to figure out what cycle I'm in or if my return is even being processed? Getting worried since I filed 2 months ago.

A blank transcript usually means your return hasn't been processed into the system yet. The cycle code only appears after initial processing begins. Keep checking weekly - it could take 4-8 weeks before any transcript updates appear. Make sure you're checking the correct tax year and transcript type (account transcript vs return transcript).

•ugh this is so frustrating... do you know if calling the IRS would help speed things up?

•Calling probably wont help at this stage since there's nothing in the system to even look at yet. Just gotta wait it out unfortunately 😕

Hey I was in the same boat last month - super frustrating! I found this tool called taxr.ai that analyzes transcripts and it actually helped me figure out what was going on even with minimal info. It costs $1 but totally worth it for peace of mind. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

•Yeah! It can actually tell you if your return is in the system but just not showing up yet. It saved me hours of stress trying to figure it out myself

Double check that your looking at 2023 and not 2024 transcripts. I made that mistake and freaked out for nothing lol

I feel your pain! Same thing happened to me last year. A completely blank transcript doesn't necessarily mean something's wrong - it just means your return hasn't hit the initial processing stage yet. The IRS has been swamped this year and processing times are all over the place. I'd give it another 2-3 weeks before really worrying. In the meantime, make sure you have copies of everything you filed just in case. The waiting is the worst part but hang in there!

•Thanks for the reassurance! It's good to hear from someone who went through the same thing. Did you end up getting any updates before it finally processed, or did everything just show up all at once? Trying to figure out if I should expect any gradual changes or if it'll be radio silence until it's done.

•In my experience it was pretty much radio silence until everything appeared at once. One day blank, next day boom - all the codes and dates were there along with my DDD. Super nerve-wracking but that seems to be how it works for most people. Just keep checking weekly and try not to stress too much about it!
