Way2Go debit card nightmare - can't reach anyone at Conduent for missing benefits payment
So my weekly benefits started showing as 'paid' in CONNECT 9 days ago, but NOTHING has hit my Way2Go card yet. I've tried calling the card customer service number on the back like 25+ times but keep getting that stupid automated system that hangs up after saying 'high call volume.' The DEO says it's not their problem since it shows paid on their end. Called Conduent corporate too but just got transferred around until someone hung up on me. My friend is in the exact same situation - payment shows 'paid' for over a week but no money on the card. Has ANYONE found a working number or email for the Way2Go people that actually connects to a human? This is ridiculous - rent is due Friday and I'm seriously panicking.

I had the same issue last month! Try calling the Way2Go number at exactly 7:30am when they first open. That's how I finally got through after trying for days. The rep told me there was a 'payment processing delay' affecting lots of Florida UI recipients. They had to manually release my payment after verifying my identity.

•Thanks, I'll try the early morning trick tomorrow. Did they say how long the 'processing delay' would take if I can't get through? This is my third payment that was supposed to hit the card and I'm getting desperate.

There's been a massive backlog with Way2Go card payments lately. I work with a nonprofit helping people navigate UI issues, and we've seen dozens of cases like yours in the past month. The problem is that DEO marks it as 'paid' the moment they send the info to Conduent, but Conduent (who runs the Way2Go program) has a separate process that's been having technical issues. Try this direct number that bypasses the main system: 833-888-2777, then press 1-1-2-1 in the menu. Or email way2go.escalations@conduent.com with your claimant ID (not your full SSN) and detailed description of the issue.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I'll try that number right now and send an email too. Should I include my card number in the email or just my claimant ID?

I know this is frustrating! Have you tried using Claimyr to reach a live DEO agent? Even though DEO says it's not their problem, they actually CAN help by submitting an internal ticket to Conduent. Regular phone methods are useless right now with their call volumes. I was dealing with the exact same Way2Go card issue and used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get a DEO agent on the phone in about 20 minutes instead of spending days calling. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The DEO agent submitted an 'expedited payment trace' to Conduent and my missing payments hit my card within 48 hours.

•I hadn't heard of this service before but I'm checking out the video now. At this point I'd try anything - been calling DEO for 3 days straight with no luck. If it can actually get me connected to someone who can help with this Way2Go disaster, it would be worth it.

dont waste ur time with the regular way2go #... its useless. i spent 2 weeks calling and never got thru. the problem is on conduents end not deo. there holding payments for 'security verification' but not telling anyone.

•Exactly! That's what the rep finally told me when I got through. They're doing extra verification because of some fraud thing that happened, but they don't bother telling anyone that their money is being held!

This is OUTRAGEOUS!!! The whole Way2Go card system is a SCAM to delay our payments!!! I've been waiting for 2 WEEKS with my money showing as "paid" but nothing on my card. Called 47 times yesterday alone!!! Conduent is doing this on purpose to hold our money and probably earning interest on it. This should be ILLEGAL!!!! WHY can't they just direct deposit to our bank accounts like normal unemployment in other states????

Derek Olson
•You actually CAN set up direct deposit instead of using the Way2Go card. Log into CONNECT, go to "View and Maintain Account Information" then select "Payment Method and Tax Withholding Options" and you can enter your bank info. Takes about 5 business days to switch over. Won't help with your current stuck payment, but might prevent future headaches.

I literally just resolved this yesterday after dealing with it for 10 days. Here's what worked: I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) online about Way2Go/Conduent holding my unemployment benefits. Got an email from a Conduent executive response team member within 6 hours, and they fixed my card issue and released all pending payments by the next morning. Here's the CFPB complaint link: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/ Be specific that this is about a government benefits prepaid card (Way2Go) administered by Conduent that is withholding your Florida unemployment funds that show as paid by the state.

•Oh wow, filing a formal complaint hadn't even occurred to me. I'm going to do this right now while also trying the other suggestions. Did you have to provide any specific details in your complaint? I'm worried about including too much personal info.

•You do need to provide your contact info (name, email, phone) so they can reach you, and I included my claimant ID (NOT full SSN) and the dates/amounts of the missing payments. I also mentioned that DEO showed the payments as processed on their end. Basically just enough info so they can identify your specific case. The CFPB takes privacy seriously.

anyone know if this affects direct deposit too? i just switched from way2go to direct deposit last week and now im worried my money will get stuck in limbo...

Derek Olson
•Direct deposit generally doesn't have these issues. The problems are specifically with the Way2Go card system and Conduent's processing. Once you're successfully switched to direct deposit, you should be fine. Just be aware that the first payment after switching might take an extra 1-2 business days as the new payment method activates.

Update on my situation - I FINALLY got my money! After trying early morning calls for 3 days, I finally got through to someone at Way2Go. They said my account was flagged for "unusual activity" (whatever that means) and had to manually release my funds. The money appeared on my card about 4 hours after the call. Keep trying the early morning calls - it eventually worked for me!

•That's great news! I tried calling at 7:30am today but still couldn't get through. Going to try again tomorrow plus all these other suggestions. It's crazy how hard they make it to access OUR money that's already been approved!

I'm dealing with the exact same nightmare right now! My payment has been showing "paid" in CONNECT for 6 days but my Way2Go card is still empty. I've been reading through all these suggestions and it's insane that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get money that's already been approved. I'm going to try the CFPB complaint route first since that seemed to get the fastest response for @Niko Ramsey, then hit that early morning calling strategy. Has anyone had luck with that direct email address Derek mentioned (way2go.escalations@conduent.com)? This whole system is broken - people shouldn't have to become detective investigators just to access their unemployment benefits. Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and solutions!

I'm going through this exact same situation right now - payment showing "paid" for 8 days but nothing on my Way2Go card. Reading through all these responses has been incredibly helpful! I had no idea about the CFPB complaint option or that there was a direct escalation email. Just wanted to add that I called my local state representative's office yesterday to complain about this issue, and they said they've been getting tons of calls about Way2Go payment delays. The staffer told me they're compiling a list to send to DEO leadership. If you're really stuck, it might be worth calling your rep's office too - sometimes political pressure helps move things along. Going to try the CFPB complaint route first thing tomorrow morning, then the early calling strategy. This is absolutely ridiculous that we have to become full-time researchers just to get our own money!

•That's a really smart idea about contacting your state rep! I hadn't thought about the political pressure angle but it makes sense that they'd want to know about systemic issues affecting so many constituents. I'm definitely going to call my rep's office tomorrow too - maybe if enough people complain they'll actually do something to fix this broken system. Thanks for sharing that tip alongside all the other great suggestions in this thread!

I'm going through this exact nightmare right now too! My payment has been stuck showing "paid" for 5 days with nothing on my Way2Go card. After reading through all these helpful responses, I'm planning to try multiple approaches tomorrow: filing the CFPB complaint first thing in the morning, then trying that early 7:30am calling strategy, and also sending an email to that escalation address Derek shared. What really gets me is that we're all dealing with the same issue but there's no official communication from DEO or Conduent about these widespread delays. We shouldn't have to crowdsource solutions on Reddit just to access our approved benefits! One thing I wanted to add - for anyone considering switching to direct deposit to avoid future Way2Go issues, make sure you don't change your payment method while you have pending payments stuck in the system. I called DEO yesterday and they warned me that switching payment methods while there are unresolved payments could make things even more complicated. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and solutions - this thread is more helpful than anything I could find on the official websites!

•You're absolutely right about not switching payment methods while there are stuck payments - that's really important advice! I made that mistake a few years ago with a different issue and it created a whole new set of problems. I'm in the same boat as everyone here - payment showing "paid" for 4 days now with nothing on my card. This thread has been a lifesaver though! I'm planning to hit all these strategies tomorrow too. It's ridiculous that we have to become experts in navigating this broken system just to get our own money, but at least we're helping each other figure it out. Going to screenshot all these suggestions so I have them handy when I start making calls and filing complaints tomorrow. Fingers crossed one of these methods works for all of us!

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now - my payment has been showing "paid" in CONNECT for 7 days but absolutely nothing on my Way2Go card! Reading through all these responses has been incredibly eye-opening. I had no idea there were so many different strategies to try. I'm definitely going to file that CFPB complaint first - the fact that @Niko Ramsey got a response within 6 hours is amazing compared to the endless phone loops we're all stuck in. Then I'll try the early morning calling at 7:30am and send that escalation email to way2go.escalations@conduent.com. What's really frustrating is that this seems to be affecting so many people but there's zero official communication about these delays. We're all scrambling around trying to figure out how to access our own approved money! The system is clearly broken when we need a Reddit thread to solve what should be a basic payment processing issue. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and solutions - this community is more helpful than any official customer service I've encountered. I'll update if any of these methods work for me!

This thread is incredibly helpful - I've been feeling so lost trying to navigate this mess on my own. I'm going to try the CFPB complaint route first since that seems to get the fastest response, then do the early morning calling strategy. The fact that we all have to become experts in workarounds just to access our approved benefits is absolutely insane. Has anyone tried calling multiple strategies at once, or is it better to try them one at a time so you don't overwhelm the system? I'm worried about filing a complaint AND calling AND emailing all at the same time and somehow making things worse. But at this point I'm desperate - rent was due yesterday and my landlord is not happy!

I'm experiencing this exact same issue right now - my payment has been showing "paid" in CONNECT for 6 days but my Way2Go card is completely empty! This thread is incredibly helpful and honestly more informative than anything I could find through official channels. It's absolutely maddening that we have to become unemployment benefits detectives just to access money that's already been approved and shows as "paid" in the system! Also, I’m just curious does anybody else know about the lawsuit that was filed because I got something in the mail about it and they’re still charging me $.50 just to check my account which is absolutely ridiculous. Just wondering if anybody else has any information on what’s going on with that lawsuit

•I haven't heard about the lawsuit but that's really interesting! The $0.50 fee just to check your balance is absolutely ridiculous - especially when you're dealing with stuck payments and need to constantly monitor if your money finally shows up. Do you remember who filed the lawsuit or what court it's in? I'd love to look into this more since it sounds like it could be related to all these systemic issues we're dealing with. If there's a class action going on, it might be worth joining given how many people are experiencing these Way2Go problems.

Quick question for those who've been successful - when you finally got through and they released your payments, did all the stuck payments hit your card at once, or did they come through separately?
