No DEO payments since April with zero response to my calls - help!
Been STUCK with no payments since April 24th!! I've called the DEO probably 30+ times but keep getting disconnected or stuck in that stupid automated system. Anyone else dealing with this nightmare? I received my back weeks in one lump sum payment, then got one regular payment after that, but NOTHING for the past 6 weeks! My CONNECT account just says 'pending' with no explanation. What makes it worse is I don't qualify for federal benefits so this is literally my only income source right now. The bills are piling up and I'm about to lose my mind with this confusing system. Does anyone know what's happening or how to actually talk to a real person??

•Did you ever get any explanation for WHY it's pending? My account doesn't show any issues flagged!

Your claim probably got flagged for 'fact finding' or went into adjudication. When this happened to me last month, I discovered that something as simple as answering one question slightly differently can trigger a hold on your account. The DEO system is incredibly sensitive to any changes or perceived inconsistencies. Unfortunately, you're right about the phone system - it's practically impossible to get through using the regular number. I spent weeks trying until I found Claimyr (claimyr.com). They have a system that gets you through to an actual DEO agent, usually within an hour. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj Once I got through to a real person, they removed the hold on my account and payments resumed in about 3 days. Definitely worth trying if you're at your wit's end.

•Thank you SO MUCH for this info! I never heard of fact finding before but that makes sense. Did they tell you exactly what triggered it? I'm worried I messed something up on my work search requirements. Definitely going to check out that service because I'm desperate at this point.

This happened to me twice now. The DEO system is PURE GARBAGE. What you need to check is your CONNECT inbox - sometimes they send you a "fact finding" questionnaire that you need to complete, but they never notify you by email or text! If you miss the deadline to respond, your payments stay pending indefinitely. Also check if your claim shows "pending adjudication" anywhere. That means a DEO employee needs to manually review something on your account. Could be identity verification, employment history discrepancy, or work search verification. The system is DESIGNED to be confusing and difficult. They're hoping people give up so they don't have to pay benefits.

•Just checked my CONNECT inbox and found NOTHING there, not even old messages. Is that normal? Where exactly do I look for the adjudication status? The main page just says "pending" but doesn't give details.

I'm in the DEO claims processing department. Here's what's likely happening: around April-May, the system implemented a quarterly wage review that automatically flags accounts for verification if it detects any earnings in the previous quarter. It sounds like you're experiencing an automated hold that requires manual removal. Check your "Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary" page in CONNECT. Look for any items labeled "pending adjudication" or "fact finding." If you see those, you'll need agent assistance to resolve them. Contact your state representative's office - they have special liaisons with DEO who can escalate your case. I've seen representatives resolve these issues within 48-72 hours when our regular channels might take weeks.

•I understand your skepticism. I should clarify I'm in claims processing for a contractor that works with DEO, not directly employed by DEO itself. I'm not speaking in any official capacity - just sharing knowledge I've gained through my work experience. Whether you believe me or not, the advice about contacting your state representative is solid and works frequently.

When my payments stopped for 2 months last year, it was because my identity verification had randomly expired. I had to redo my ID.me verification even though I'd already done it before! The most frustrating part was that there was NOTHING in my account showing this was the problem. Definitely try that Claimyr service someone mentioned above. My neighbor used it and got through in 45 minutes after trying for weeks on his own. Once you talk to someone, they can immediately see what's holding up your claim and usually fix it while you're on the phone. And document EVERYTHING - dates you called, who you spoke with, what they said. You might need this if you end up having to file an appeal.

•I didn't even think about ID.me! I did that verification months ago but maybe it expired? I'll check that too. And yes, I'm definitely going to start documenting everything - wish I'd done that from the beginning.

honey the whole system is corrupt don't get your hopes up!!! they did the same exact thing to me and my sister. no payments for 2 months and then suddenly "oh we fixed the glitch" and money appears. no explanation, no apology, NOTHING!!! the state doesn't care about us regular people AT ALL.

Quick update - I just saw your comment about not seeing anything in your CONNECT inbox. That could actually be part of the problem. Sometimes the DEO system glitches and doesn't display messages even though they're in the system. When you finally reach a representative, ask them specifically to check if there are any pending fact-finding questionnaires or requests for information assigned to your account that aren't visible to you. Also, make sure you're still claiming weeks even while waiting for this to resolve! Many people stop claiming thinking there's no point since they're not getting paid, but once the issue is fixed, they can only pay you for properly claimed weeks.

•Thank you for this! I have been claiming weeks religiously every two weeks even though nothing's coming through. At least I'm doing something right! I'll definitely ask about hidden messages when I finally reach someone.

Just wanted to follow up - were you able to get through to anyone? The Claimyr service I mentioned earlier helped me connect within 35 minutes today when I needed to ask about a new issue. The DEO agent was able to see exactly what was holding up my claim - turned out to be something completely different than what I thought. Hope you get answers soon!

•I actually tried the Claimyr service this morning! Got through to someone in about 50 minutes. The agent told me my account had been flagged for "income verification" because I had reported some small gig work on one of my weekly claims. They said they've cleared the flag and my payments should resume within 3-5 business days. SUCH a relief! Worth every penny to finally get an actual explanation.
