Finally reached FL DEO after a week - Tips for contacting unemployment?
I finally got through to someone at Florida reemployment for my benefits! I've been trying for over a week to reach a live person. It was so frustrating but I finally did it. Has anyone else had trouble getting through? Any tips for others who are still trying?

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of uploading online? I heard that might work better

•What year is it, 1995? Who even has a fax machine anymore lol

•Lol I know it sounds old school, but desperate times call for desperate measures 🤷♀️

•If you don't have a fax machine, many office supply stores offer fax services. It might be a viable option.

Does anyone know if they're still doing the extra $300 federal benefits? I can't get a straight answer

•Pretty sure those ended a while ago. We're back to regular state benefits only now

•Ugh, of course. Just when we need it most 🙄

•It's always good to check official state websites for the most up-to-date information on benefits.

I found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/AsdxiF0IH1k

•$20? Sounds like a scam to me. Why should we have to pay to get our benefits?

•I get it, I was skeptical too. But after wasting hours trying to get through, $20 was worth it to me. It's not ideal, but it worked when nothing else did.

•How does this actually work? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

•It seems like it automates the whole process, which is really helpful when lines are jammed. But yeah, it's unfortunate that we have to resort to paid services.

Anyone else getting conflicting info from different reps? One tells me to upload a document, another says I don't need to. It's so confusing 😵💫

•Yep, happens all the time. I started keeping a log of who I talked to and what they said. CYA

•Keeping a log is a great idea. It can help clarify things if there's a dispute later.

Congrats on finally getting through! I've been trying for 2 weeks now and still no luck. The system is so broken, its ridiculous. How many times did you have to call before you got someone?

•It might sound extreme, but sometimes visibility can prompt action. Just keep in mind COVID restrictions.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been trying for days and can't get anyone. The whole system is a joke. Anyone know if there's a best time to call?

•Some people suggest trying during odd hours, like right before closing, but it's a gamble.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with Florida's unemployment system for months: 1. Persistence is key. You might have to call dozens of times before getting through. 2. Try calling at different times. Early morning (right when they open) or late afternoon sometimes works better. 3. Have all your information ready before you call. They might ask for your claim ID, social security number, etc. 4. Be patient with the representatives. They're dealing with a lot too. 5. If you can't get through on the main line, try the employer line. Sometimes they can help or transfer you. 6. Check your online account regularly for updates or messages. 7. Consider reaching out to your local state representative. They sometimes can help push things along. Remember, the system is overwhelmed right now. It's frustrating, but keep trying. Good luck everyone!

Pro tip: if you press 0 repeatedly during the automated message, sometimes it'll bump you to a real person faster. Worked for me!

Anyone else notice that the website is always "under maintenance" when you try to log in? It's like they don't want us to get our money 🙄

Hi everyone, it's truly frustrating dealing with the Florida reemployment system, and it seems many of you have similar experiences. As for Claimyr, while it offers a legitimate service that automates the process of reaching a live agent, it's unfortunate that such services have become necessary due to the system's inefficiencies. On the positive side, for some users, $20 for successful assistance is a reasonable trade-off considering the valuable time it saves. However, keep in mind that not every service suits everyone, and paying for something that should ideally be free can be a tough pill to swallow. It's important to weigh the pros and cons, and consider your personal circumstances. Remember, the key is persistence, and trying different strategies like varying call times, pressing certain phone menu options, or even seeking help from your state representatives. Stay informed through official channels about any system updates or changes to benefits, and document any interactions with representatives to avoid confusion. Best of luck to all navigating this challenging process.

I heard they're updating the system soon. Maybe that'll fix some of these issues? 🤞

Just wanted to share my experience - I finally got through after 3 weeks of trying! What worked for me was calling right at 7:45 AM (15 minutes before they officially open) and staying on the line even when it said "all representatives are busy." I know it sounds crazy, but I literally called 47 times one day before getting through. The rep was actually really helpful once I got connected. For those still struggling, don't give up! Also, make sure you have your PIN, SSN, and claim confirmation number ready. The whole call took about 25 minutes once I got through. Hang in there everyone! 💪

•Wow 47 calls in one day?! That's dedication! I'm only at about 20 attempts so far but your post gives me hope. Going to try the early morning strategy tomorrow. Thanks for sharing the specific details about what to have ready - that's super helpful! 🙏
