DEO stopped $600 FPUC payments since May 19th - any updates or backpay timeline?

Has anyone else been waiting on their $800 federal payments that stopped coming through CONNECT since May 19th? This is getting ridiculous! I've certified every single week correctly, my regular DEO payments of $275 are still coming through, but the federal supplement just vanished without explanation. I've tried calling at least 35 times over the past two weeks and can't get through to a live agent. Does anyone have any actual information about what's happening with these missing payments? Is there a special phone number that actually works? I'm behind on rent and utilities now because I was counting on that money. Are they planning to issue backpayments when they fix whatever glitch they're having? Any info would be helpful!

This seems to be happening to lots of people, including me. From what I understand, DEO is having some kind of system issue with the federal payment distribution. I've been able to confirm that if you're still getting your regular state benefits, the $800 payments will eventually come as backpay. The DEO rep I spoke to said they're working on a "batch processing solution" that should resolve it by the end of the month. My regular state benefits haven't been interrupted either - just the federal portion isn't being added. The rep told me we don't need to do anything special to get the backpay, it will automatically process once they fix the system issue.

Thank you SO MUCH for this info! At least that gives me some hope. How did you actually get through to a rep? I've been trying the main number and keep getting disconnected after the automated system.

The same thing happened to me, but mine finally came through yesterday - ALL of the backpay at once! It was for 5 weeks worth. I didn't have to do anything special, it just suddenly appeared in my account with separate entries for each missed week. Hang in there, I think they're working through the backlog alphabetically or by claim ID number or something because several people in my apartment complex got theirs on different days.

OMG really?? Did you get any kind of notification before it came through? I'm checking my account obsessively and nothing has shown up yet. Did all 5 payments hit your account on the same day??

THE DEO IS DOING THIS ON PURPOSE!!!! they hope people will give up and stop claiming. they did the same thing last year with different payments and then blamed it on "system maintenance" or "verification reviews" but its just them trying to save $$$. my cousin works for the state (not DEO) and she says they are totally overwhelmed and using any excuse to delay payments. KEEP CLAIMING AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!!!!!

I don't think that's accurate. I got my backpay yesterday too like someone else mentioned. They're just slow with the system updates. The money is federal anyway, not state money, so DEO doesn't save anything by withholding it.

If u need to reach a person at deo i used claimyr.com last week and got through in 25 mins instead of trying for days. cost money but worth it to actually talk to someone. they connected me to a deo agent who confirmed all my missed federal payments are still in the system and will be paid. she put a note on my account about the missing weeks. theres a video showing how it works here https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj

Thanks for the suggestion. That's frustrating that there's a paid service just to reach a government agency we should be able to call directly. But at this point I might try anything to get some answers.

Hi everyone, I work with a legal aid clinic that helps with unemployment issues. Here's what's actually happening: DEO implemented a new payment system on May 15th for the increased federal supplement (it went from $600 to $800 in the new quarter). The system has been causing delays in the federal portion distribution. Some important facts: 1. If you're receiving your regular state benefits, you WILL get the federal portion as backpay 2. The system is processing batches alphabetically by last name (A-F got paid last week, G-M this week) 3. No additional action is needed from claimants 4. The backpay should be fully caught up by June 30th 5. This only affects the federal supplement, not regular state benefits If you haven't received your backpay by July 1st, then you should contact DEO directly or seek assistance.

Thank you for this clear explanation! Do you know if they're sending any kind of notification when they process these batches? Or do we just need to keep checking our accounts?

Im so stressed abt this!!! My last name starts with T so sounds like ill be waiting forever according to what that legal aid person said. does anyone know if we'll get interest on the backpay for all this delay?? its not fair they can just hold onto OUR money for weeks when bills are due now not later!!!! my landlord doesnt care about DEO's system problems!

Unfortunately, there's no interest paid on delayed unemployment benefits. However, if you're facing eviction, please contact your local legal aid society immediately as there are still some eviction protections in place that might help. You can also request a letter from DEO confirming your benefits are approved but delayed, which some landlords will accept.

That's so good to hear! I'm in the S group so hopefully mine comes through soon. Did all 6 payments show up as separate entries or as one lump sum?

This reminds me of last year when they suddenly stopped my payments because they claimed I didn't submit my work searches but I definitely did. Took 3 months to fix and I nearly lost my apartment. The DEO system is so broken. I switched to direct deposit instead of the Way2Go card and that seemed to help with getting payments faster once they started again.

EXACTLY! They always have some excuse! My work searches disappeared from the system twice and I had to reupload everything. They don't care about us at all!

UPDATE: I just received an email from DEO about the payment delays. They confirmed they're processing backpayments in batches and everyone should be caught up by June 30th. They apologized for the delay and confirmed no additional action is needed from claimants. Just wanted to share this official confirmation with everyone.

Thank you for sharing this! That's a relief to get official confirmation. I haven't received that email yet but will keep an eye out for it.
