DEO claim says 'under investigation' - approval coming tomorrow?
Just logged into my CONNECT account and saw my status changed to 'under investigation' after being 'pending' for 3 weeks. My DEO agent called yesterday and mentioned there would be an 'update' on my claim tomorrow, but wouldn't tell me what kind of update. I'm freaking out because I've been without income since my restaurant closed down last month. Has anyone seen their status change to 'under investigation' right before getting approved? Is this a good sign or should I be worried? Really need this money for June rent!

The 'under investigation' status usually means they're reviewing your employment history and wage documentation. It's actually a step forward from just 'pending' because someone is actively looking at your claim. If they told you there would be an update tomorrow, that's typically a good sign - they don't usually schedule updates for denials. In my experience helping others with claims, this often happens right before approval, especially if you've already provided all requested documentation.

That's reassuring! I did upload all my pay stubs and the layoff letter when I first applied. Do you think I should call again tomorrow if I don't see any change in the status?

mine sat in 'under investigation' for like 6 WEEKS and then suddenly changed to eligible out of nowhere. the system is completely broken tbh. don't get your hopes up about anything happening 'tomorrow' lol. DEO runs on their own time

6 WEEKS?? I can't wait that long! Did you do anything to move it along or just wait it out?

I had the exact same situation in April. My claim was stuck for 4 weeks, then changed to \

After dealing with DEO for years (I'm a seasonal worker), I've learned that reaching them directly is the key to getting real answers instead of vague statements. I had the same frustrations until I started using Claimyr to get through to an actual agent. Their service calls DEO for you and connects you when an agent is available. Saved me from endless busy signals and disconnects. I just checked my status with them yesterday, took about 20 minutes instead of days of calling. You can see how it works in their video: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj or their website claimyr.com. The agent I got was actually helpful and explained exactly what the \

Oh no! I'm pretty sure I double-checked all my info, but maybe I should verify my SSN and other details just to be safe.

Thank you for explaining! I'll definitely keep my phone on me all day tomorrow and answer everything. Do you know if they need to talk to me again before approving, or could they just process it without another call?

To answer your follow-up question - yes, I would definitely call again if you don't see a status change tomorrow. The DEO's definition of \

Thanks for the advice. I'll give them until end of day tomorrow and then start calling again. Just hoping I don't have to wait weeks longer - bills are piling up fast.

This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about!!! The entire DEO system is DESIGNED to keep people in the dark and make it as DIFFICULT as possible to get benefits we are ENTITLED to! It's a disgrace how they treat hardworking Floridians who just need help during tough times!!!

I went through this exact same situation last month! My claim was stuck on "pending" for almost a month, then switched to "under investigation" on a Wednesday. I was terrified it meant something bad, but it actually got approved the following Monday. The investigation status usually means they're doing their final verification checks - cross-referencing your employer info, wages, and making sure everything matches up. Since your agent specifically mentioned an update tomorrow, that's actually a really positive sign. They typically don't schedule updates for denials - those usually just happen without warning. Keep your phone handy tomorrow and try to stay positive! The fact that they're being proactive about communication suggests they're moving toward approval.

•This is so reassuring to hear! Your timeline gives me a lot of hope - pending for a month then approved just a few days after switching to "under investigation" sounds exactly like what I'm going through. I really appreciate you sharing the details about it being final verification checks rather than something negative. I've been spiraling thinking the worst, but you're right that scheduling an update does seem more positive than just letting bad news sit there. I'll definitely keep my phone close tomorrow and try to stay optimistic. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience - it really helps to hear from someone who went through the exact same thing!

I'm in a very similar boat right now! My claim has been "under investigation" for about a week after being stuck on "pending" for over a month. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring and nerve-wracking at the same time. The fact that your agent actually called you and mentioned a specific timeline for an update is encouraging though - from what I've seen, they usually don't bother giving timelines unless something is actually happening. I've been checking my CONNECT account obsessively every day, and the waiting is driving me crazy. Really hoping tomorrow brings good news for you! Please update us when you hear something - it would help those of us in similar situations know what to expect.

•I totally understand that obsessive checking feeling! I've been refreshing my CONNECT account multiple times a day too, and it's exhausting. The waiting really is the worst part of this whole process. It sounds like we're both in very similar situations - the month+ of pending followed by the investigation status. I'm trying to take comfort in what others have shared here about it often being a positive step forward. Hopefully we'll both get good news soon! I'll definitely post an update after I hear from them tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us that this investigation status means they're just doing final checks before approval.

I've been following this thread closely because I'm dealing with something very similar! My claim just switched from "pending" to "under investigation" yesterday after 5 weeks of waiting. Like others have mentioned, it seems like this status change often happens right before a decision gets made. The fact that your DEO agent proactively called you and gave you a specific timeline is definitely encouraging - in my experience, they don't usually bother with that level of communication unless something concrete is happening with your claim. I know the waiting is absolutely brutal, especially when you're dealing with mounting bills and no income. Try to stay hopeful though - based on what I've read here, the investigation status combined with them telling you to expect an update tomorrow sounds pretty promising. Please keep us posted on what happens! Those of us going through similar situations really benefit from hearing real experiences and outcomes.
