Anyone receive their DEO 1099-G tax form for 2024 unemployment benefits yet?

I've been checking my mailbox every day for the past week hoping to get my 1099-G from DEO for my unemployment benefits from last year. It's already February 5th and I need to file my taxes ASAP since I'm expecting a decent refund. I've logged into CONNECT but don't see any option to download it electronically. Has anyone received theirs yet? Getting worried because my tax guy says he can't finish my return without it. Do I need to contact DEO or are they just running behind schedule?

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. Did you get unemployment for the whole year or just part of it?

The DEO website says they should all be mailed out by January 31st, but mine just arrived yesterday. You can actually access your 1099-G online through CONNECT if you don't want to wait for the mail. Log into your account, go to "View and Maintain Account Information," then select "1099-G" from the dropdown menu. You'll be able to see all your past forms and print them directly.

Thank you SO much! I just checked and was able to download it. I swear I looked everywhere on that site before. The CONNECT interface is so confusing sometimes.

Am I the only one who's paranoid about these tax forms?? Last year DEO sent me a 1099-G showing I received $5,800 when I actually got $7,200!! I had to call like 50 times before I finally got through to someone who could fix it. Now I'm scared the same thing is going to happen again and I'll get audited or something!!! Has anyone checked if their amount is correct??

It's always a good idea to compare your 1099-G amount with your own records. You should have been keeping track of all payments received (after taxes if you elected to have them withheld). If there's a discrepancy, contact DEO right away so they can issue a corrected form before you file.

If anyone is still waiting or finds errors on their 1099-G, I highly recommend using Claimyr to connect with a DEO agent directly. I had issues with my form last year and spent days trying to get through on my own. With Claimyr (claimyr.com), I was connected to a live agent in about 20 minutes who resolved my issue immediately. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. Especially useful now when everyone's calling about tax forms and wait times are insane.

I actually managed to download mine from CONNECT as someone suggested above, but this is good to know in case there are any problems with it. The amount looks right but I'm double-checking against my bank statements.

JUST A HEADS UP - MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE AMOUNT ON THE 1099-G CAREFULLY!!! Mine showed $2,450 MORE than I actually received!!! This happened to at least 3 other people I know. DEO system is still a mess even in 2025.

For anyone concerned about not receiving their 1099-G, Florida DEO is required by law to issue these forms by January 31st. However, they typically begin mailing them out in mid-January, so some claimants receive theirs earlier than others. If you haven't received yours by February 15th, that's when you should start actively trying to contact DEO about it. As others mentioned, you can access your 1099-G electronically through your CONNECT account under the "View and Maintain Account Information" section. This is actually the fastest and most reliable method, as mail delivery can be inconsistent. If you find discrepancies between the reported amount and what you actually received, document everything carefully. Compare your bank deposits against your payment history in CONNECT. You'll need to request a corrected 1099-G, which DEO can issue, but it's important to start this process as soon as possible to avoid tax filing delays.

Thank you for this detailed info! I did find mine online after another commenter pointed me in the right direction. The amount matches what I received, thankfully. Do you know if unemployment benefits in Florida are taxable at the state level or just federal?

Florida doesn't have state income tax, so you only need to worry about federal taxes on your unemployment benefits. Make sure you've had enough withheld or set aside throughout the year to cover it. Many people are surprised by their tax bill because DEO only withholds 10% if you elect to have taxes withheld, which isn't always enough depending on your tax bracket and other income.

anybody know what happens if u moved since last year? do they forward the 1099??

If you set up mail forwarding with USPS, they should forward your 1099-G to your new address. However, it's better to update your address directly with DEO through your CONNECT account to ensure all communications reach you promptly. And as mentioned earlier, you can always access your tax forms electronically regardless of your mailing address.

Update: I found my 1099-G online in CONNECT just like people suggested here. For anyone else looking, go to View and Maintain Account Information, then look for the 1099-G option in the dropdown menu. Thanks everyone for your help! Sending this info to my tax guy now.

Glad you were able to find yours online! This thread has been super helpful - I was in the same boat waiting for mine in the mail. Just want to add for anyone else reading this: when you're in CONNECT looking for the 1099-G, sometimes the page takes a while to load so don't give up if it seems slow. Also, make sure you have a PDF reader installed because it downloads as a PDF file. Mine showed the correct amount thankfully, but definitely good advice from others here to double-check against your own records before filing!
