Can't access my 1099-G form from DEO - need help finding the re-request option
Seriously annoyed with the Florida DEO right now! I've been waiting for my 1099-G tax form for unemployment benefits I received in 2024, and they claim they mailed it weeks ago. Well, I never got it in my mailbox. So I tried logging into the CONNECT system to just print it myself, but the system won't let me access the form at all! I keep getting some error message when I try to view it. I called DEO customer service (after like 27 attempts to get through) and the lady told me I need to "go in and re-request the form" but she didn't tell me WHERE on the website to do this. I've clicked around everywhere in my CONNECT account and can't find any option to re-request a 1099-G. I need to file my taxes soon and this is holding everything up. Has anyone else had this problem? Where exactly do you go to request another 1099-G form? The DEO website is so frustrating to navigate!

I had this exact same issue last month! The 1099-G request option is actually hidden pretty deep in the CONNECT system. Here's what you need to do: 1. Log into your CONNECT account 2. Go to the "Determinations and Pending Issues" section (not the main dashboard) 3. Look for a tab called "Tax Documents" near the bottom of the left menu 4. Click on that, then select "Request 1099-G" It's definitely not intuitive at all, and they don't make it easy to find. Once you submit the request, it takes about 5-7 business days for them to mail a new one. You can also try looking under "Benefit Payments" and then "Tax Information" if you don't see it in the first location.

•Thank you so much! I'll try looking in those spots. I swear I looked everywhere but definitely didn't see a "Tax Documents" tab. Their website is so confusing. I'll check again this afternoon. Really appreciate the help!

•This is why I ended up using Claimyr to get through to DEO on the phone when I had this same issue. I was getting nowhere with the website. The service connects you with an agent usually within 30 minutes instead of waiting on hold forever or getting disconnected. Saved me a lot of headaches. They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj and their website is claimyr.com. After I got through, the agent was able to send me my 1099-G via email instead of waiting for mail.

I think the DEO is purposefully making it difficult to get your tax documents. I've been on unemployment twice and both times had issues with 1099 forms. The system is designed to be confusing and frustrating. And good luck getting anyone competent on the phone unless you have 5 hours to waste on hold. It's all part of Florida's effort to discourage people from collecting benefits they're legally entitled to! 😡

Just wanted to clarify something important - if you received benefits in 2024, are you sure you should have a 1099-G already? The DEO usually doesn't mail those until late January/early February for the PREVIOUS tax year. So if you're looking for 2024 benefits documentation, they actually might not be available yet since we're still in that tax year. Could that be the issue?

•Oh shoot, you might be right. Now I'm confused. I received benefits from October 2024 through December 2024, so maybe that's why the rep told me to request it specifically? I assumed they would automatically send it for tax purposes. Ugh, this is so confusing! I really wish the DEO would make this clearer.

Have u tried the automated phone system? I couldnt find it online either but when i called the main DEO number (not the regular customer service) and went through the automated menu there was an option specifically for tax documents. Might be worth trying before spending hours trying to talk to a human.

•This is a great suggestion! The automated system option is actually pretty useful for document requests. The menu option should be something like "For tax documents or 1099-G information, press 3" (though the exact number might vary). Just make sure you have your claimant ID and PIN ready before calling.

•I did check my spam folder but nothing there either. I think they only sent it via regular mail based on what the representative told me. But thanks for the suggestion!
