SDI claim pending - Called wrong number? Need help reaching correct department

I called SDI about my pending claim and the lady said I called the wrong number. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm so frustrated with this whole process. Any advice on how to get through to the right department?

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there too. The SDI system is such a mess. Have you tried calling early in the morning? Sometimes that works better.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try calling first thing tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞

Early morning calls are hit or miss. I had better luck in the afternoon, around 2-3 PM. Less traffic then.

Good point! I guess it varies. OP, maybe try both and see what works?

Classic SDI move, sending people in circles 🙄 Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes its more up to date then what the phone reps see.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time on hold.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check you have the correct SDI number. It should be 1-800-480-3287. 2. Call right when they open at 8:00 AM. 3. If you get the 'call volume too high' message, hang up and immediately redial. 4. When you finally get through, ask for a 'tier 2' representative. 5. Be polite but firm. Explain your situation clearly. 6. If they can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor. 7. Keep a log of all your calls - date, time, rep name, and what was said. 8. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes intervene. Stay persistent! The system is frustrating, but don't give up. Good luck!

Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But seriously, I'll give it a shot if nothing else works. Thanks!

I feel your pain, OP. Been dealing with SDI for months now. Its like they purposely make it difficult to get help. Hang in there!
