Need tips for calling unemployment to finish application - nervous about messing up!
Hey everyone, I need to call unemployment to finish my application. They didn't ask for any specific info, just said to call and complete it. Any tips on how to handle this call? I'm a bit nervous and want to make sure I don't mess anything up.

Been there, done that. Here's what you need to do: 1. Have your Social Security number ready 2. Gather your employment history (dates, employer names, etc.) 3. Prepare any questions you have about the process 4. When you get through, explain clearly that you're calling to complete your application 5. Be patient and polite - the agents are usually helpful if you're nice Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: write down everything the agent tells you. It's easy to forget important details when you're nervous.

Yo, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

•It's legit! You pay, give them your number, and they call you when they get an agent. Saved me hours of frustration.

Anyone else feel like the whole system is designed to make us give up? It's like they don't want us to get the benefits we're entitled to 🙄

Quick question - do they ask for bank info during the call? I can't remember if I already gave that when I started the application online.

Just finished my call yesterday! Here's a pro tip: have a pen and paper ready. They'll give you a confirmation number at the end. WRITE IT DOWN. You'll need it if you have to call back.

Has anyone had luck calling at a specific time of day? I've heard early morning is best but idk if that's just a myth.
